2. It is indeed Jackson on the horse
which might explain why the statue is in Jackson Square.

I was wondering whether the statue had held up. It is difficult to get equestrian statues to balance even without wind (that one, I believe, was the first in the U.S.)

Come to think of it, I'm surprised King Dumbass** didn't try to milk the statue!

I like the Andrew Jackson take though. That's no horse, it's a donkey, and it's kicking Bush in the head!
