No major academic in the field of economics or finance will back Bush on his economic policies.

Hoover had a very Adam Smith-like philosophy that the government shouldn't interfere, so FDR kicked his arse. It seems that Bush has the same one. The difference may be that we're not living in peacetime and middle-class people aren't paying as much attention.
