1. Nope. We'd never get clearance to land, or to fly anywhere
near New Orleans.

3. Just a loop..... No landing.
As long as the bushbaby isn't near I doubt theyd shoot down a plane.

Especially if it were publicized right before you entered the airspace of NO.

Hell, we could get media backing on this.

18. I don't think so.... especially if you had media covering it from takeoff
to landing....

It would be a PR nightmare.

5. I have a friend w/ a plane.
He had his assistant try to get permission to land anywhere near the area w/ supplies. They would be coming from CA.

BIG NO-GO. Assistant can't seen to get any real info or permission.

6. I wonder what the reaction would be if the govt
shot down a plane or copter trying to airdrop supplies without authorization.

8. that's the deal...FUCK permissions here.
You could be over, make a drop. and gone before they could do anything... Of course there'd be hell to pay unless you had media on your side. And maybe even if you did.

9. They'll arrest you whereever you land
You could be thrown in jail and at the very least get your pilot's license pulled.

10. Even the news choppers have to be approved.
There have been reports that news crews will not be allowed in 24-36 hours. It's getting more 'Falluja-like' by the day.

PS, drop over 1,500 feet and the result is confetti.

7. Are people even allowed to fly over it now?
I am not sure exactly why they wouldn't, but perhaps with all those news helicopters and miltary planes and helicopters which are supposed to be in the area, they are limiting air traffic.
I was going to say that I don't know anyone in this area who flies, but actually I do. This guy is a cold hearted capitalist, but you never know.
There must be some Duers closer to the area who fly or know people who fly.

15. I have inadvertantly flown over Dobbins before....
Frightening to nestle up to a C-whatever in a Mooney.

There's restrictions, there would have to be a willingness to accept the consequences. I believe it could be done.

16. What about boats?
Why aren't they using more boats?

There are small outboard motor boats all over the gulf area. Even if you had to row, it's better then nothing.

17. You would need a quick "in and out." with a large cargo capacity.
A cargo plane is the only thing I think would be viable. Civil disobedience on a 21st century scale.
