I don't believe these reports of gunshots at hospitals and helicopters...
I think they may using that as an excuse for their incompetence. Well, I'm sorry so many died but "they" were shooting at us and we couldn't help them...I know that we've heard those reports....

1. BINGO! It is an EXCUSE for their NON-RESPONSE! We have heard
this kind of crap before!

Remember all the bullshit flying after 9-11 in NYC?
Remember babies stolen from incubators in Iraq?
Remember the Gulf of Tonkin incident?

These reports are completely UNCONFIRMED and Wolf Blitzer (Bush shill) is repeating it as if it were HARD FACT!

Someone needs to call him on this shit because it is DELAYING RESCUE EFFORTS!

24. I was listening to the LSP scanner last night
between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. this morning. The MSM was reporting that evac ops at superdome had been halted because someone was shooting at helos aiding in the evac. But what I was hearing on the scanner was that there was a fire in a trash shoot and it was growing. The guard was trying to get FD there to put it out. The FD got there ahead of their equipment and NG told them to leave because they couldn't make sure they could protect them.

The FD and LSP refused to leave, waited for their equipment and extinguished the fire.

The NG was definately scared that the people were going to panic and start rioting. From some of the conversation it sounded to me like they were ready to seal the building and bug out for their own safty. The phrase "we're about to pull the trigger on this ops" was made over the scanner more than once.

They had 104 buses ready to roll in and evac. Ten had already been down there before they shut halted the evac. I still don't know if the buses ever resumed running.

This is all so sad an unnecessary, this all could have been avoided, people are going to begin dieing en mass.

Glossary for those who may need it:

FD= fire department
LSP= Lousiana State police
NG= national guard
MSM= main stream media

2. Tulane University Hospital was almost overrun yesterday...
by a mob. Where did I hear this? Not the MSM. My father-in-law is Chief of Staff. He's been there for 6 days 24/7.

Meadowcrest Hospital in West Jefferson had their main supply truck robbed yesterday at gunpoint. Where did I hear this? Not the MSM. My wife works in the corporate office of the company that runs the hospital. Sadly, the hospital, which had electricity, has now evacuated all its patients and shut down because they are fearful for the safety of their patients and staff.

But there were shots fired at the hospital. They were reporting it on the police channel for N.O. that was up last night. They were notifying one officer not to get there too early and wait for back up because they weren't sure how bad it was.

5. The lengths some people will go to
Do you think the Guardsman who got shot self-inflicted his wound?

WalMart left their guns out unlocked, as did many other gun dealers. What did you think would happen?

15. Katrina animates inanimate guns! Freaky stuff!!!
Good grief. Are you telling us now that WALMART and local gun dealers are responsible for these -- these SCUM who have armed themselves and are now shooting at doctors and nurses and hampering the rescue efforts, largely of their OWN neighbors?

Would it have done any good for these merchants to have tried to secure these weapons? Not likely.

Oh, I see! Those guns marched THEMSELVES off those racks, loaded themselves and are rampaging thru NO shooting the place up. And if those naughty guns winds up in the hands of some poor, oppressed ghetto dwellers, that's just a coincidence, right?

Now it all makes sense.

(PS: Take your meds, OK?)

21. Who DO you think you're kidding?
"Would it have done any good for these merchants to have tried to secure these weapons? Not likely."
Sez you. But its noticeable that there wasn't even a legal requirement for gun dealers to have taken commonsense precautions, thanks to the GOP and the gun lobby.

Meanwhile, what a swell deterrent to crime those guns have turned out to be!

7. Talk to someone who's there in Louisiana.
This stuff is spreading like wildfire throughout the state. These people are low lifes, the lowest of the low. They care nothing about anyone's life, including their own.

A friend's brother-in-law is a cop in Baton Rouge, cruising the bayous for people to rescue - he's getting shot at.

Another friend's wife is a post-woman. She's not returning to work, they may cancel mail delivery. Another friend's wife is sitting at home with 3 loaded shotguns.

Another friend's wife was going to work for the Red Cross, but now can't due to safety reasons.

Three school buses full of people heading to Houston had stopped to eat - these freaks stole the buses.

I am NOT making this up. It's very scary, and from what I understand the government is finally sending in the Militia, and even for this bleeding heart liberal, it's needed BADLY.

Forget the color of their skin, that's not the factor - these people are low lifes and will do anything to get anything. They're animals.

14. Thank you Tex Dem...
I know that nerves are rough right now and I appreciate you understanding where I was coming from.

I am as angry as anyone here about the lack of help for the victims. It's infuriating.

But now, after talking to my friends in Louisiana, I'm also mad as hell at the losers who are doing the crap that they're doing. These aren't the people sitting on their roofs, or in the convention center asking for food and water, food for their babies, help for their elderly. These people are disgusting, taking sick advantage of people in their time of need.

I apologize that you misunderstood. Frankly, you jumped, well leaped, to a conclusion that is quite insulting.

11. Absolutely, you don't shoot someone who is trying to
rescue you or someone sick, that is for sure. The reporters on the ground are not seeing it and saying they don't see it. The only ones saying it is so is the announcer. Where did they get the information? Three different reporters on two different stations both say they have not seen any violence or heard any gun shots...

12. One Thing, My Bluegrass Friend
People often mis-interpert the intent behind the sound of gunshots. There are certainly guns being fired off in the city, and certainly bullets landing somewhere or other. But people frequently leap to the conclusion something has been aimed at them when in fact no such thing has occured.

13. I don't doubt that gunshots have gone off...
But I'm not sure it isn't someone on the ground shooting warning shots or shooting at people that might be trying ot get their "stuff" of cops shooting warning shots...I am not convinced that the rescue vehicles are being hindered because of those gunshots. I'm skeptical when it comes to these people in charge. It may be true but I am not yet convinced. People do desperate things in desperate times, I know.

20. Undoubtedly there are criminals and lowlifes among the shooters
but have you considered the possibility that there are also people who have simply snapped under the strain? No food, no water, perhaps no sleep for three days, and with no communication, believing (with some justification) that they've been abandoned to die?

Has it occurred to you that the people attacking the hospitals are not trying to harm the patients (which would make no sense) but having no information, they simply see a potential source of food and water and dry beds and, having no communication with anyone outside their own group, are unaware that the hospitals are as badly off as they are?

Even if their are roving gangs, that's no excuse to suspend rescue operations. A couple of armed guards on each helicopter or bus or boat would do the trick, wouldn't it?
