he's a pretty easy going guy...it's rare to see him as worked up as he was when I showed him the pictures of people waiting outside of the Superdome Sunday afternoon.
3. Exactly..tell people to evacuate then don't provide a plan or help. On
Laura Flanders for Mike Malloy last night she was saying how well organized Cuba was for telling people where to go and what to do. Castro himself was on TV and said they didn't want 1 Cuban to die from the hurricane. Now if Castro can do that why can't we?
we had the facts -- type 5 coming, N.O. in a bowl below sea level, relatively large percentage of people w/ little or no resources to take extended vacation somewhere....
I saw where people tried to get out in their cars and it was just so bad they had to turn around. I think by the time they got busses in for thousands of people and got on the highway, they would have been stuck. The only thing is that they didn't open the other side of the highway. That would have helped. The panic came on Sunday morning and the first I saw, the highways out of town were already jammed by 10 AM EST.
