I'm about as far as you can get from being a conspiracy nut.

But considering how underwhelming Bush's response to the disaster has been, and how nonchalant he seemed about the hurricane when it was on its way, I can't help but wonder if Bush isn't pleased at what happened.

We all know that Bush is a religious fundamentalist nutbar, and fundies hate New Orleans.

I'd like to think I'm just being paranoid, but I just can't get this nasty thought out of the back of my mind.

2. Well it takes away from Iraq, oil prices get to go up, and he get a chance

to be a hero, poll numbers will creep up a tiny bit.

The republican media is happy once again with people glued to their set...Hail Bush has been their rallying cry!

Bush will take some heat but like everything else the media won't cover it and allow it to stick.

Distractions & smokescreens have always help Bush.

I cannot imagine who would see him as a hero in this situation.

If this had been a nuclear attack instead of a hurricane, where was our preparedness? Where was HOMELAND SECURITY??? Anyone still feeling more secure now than they did in 1999? This could still happen where you live... hurricane, tornado, earthquake, railroad derailed with toxic chemicals, etc etc etc...
All of those would have been surprises..THIS WAS FORESEEN AND PREDICTED!!!

4. To be a hero
or to declare martial law? I've got this nagging question as to whether that's what they're really waiting for - a good excuse.

I think this tinfoil bonnet is very fetching, don't you? :tinfoilhat:

8. Just keep watching your friendly television media...they'll spin it, in
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 12:37 PM by LaPera
the following days...The overwhelming guest will be republicans and the spin will be, it was a natural disater and Bush is doing all he can...

We know it's bullshit, But how did Bush get an 80% approval rating during 9/11 while he did absolutely nothing, even ignored the warnings all he did pretend to be a leader made some silly tough speeches and people ate it up, the same sheep and want to believe they have a leader...Rove knows that...

Shit, Bush's approval already went up 5% (USA Today poll) today and he was out playing golf!!!

They have already called out the troops to control the "mob" at the stadium. They are allowing it to deteriorate to the point that they will have to start shooting eveyone in the streets very soon.
I just heard on the radio that they are commandeering cars and houses in the French Quarter to set up "Police" Observation points.

But someone did and Bush has been set up to take the fall.

That's why it looks like to me anyway.

5. NO
IMHO he would have been ready with plans and doing things that looked good. But he did the birthday cake thingy and the new guitar thingy. ROVE would have never allowed those if this was planned.

6. Don't waste time on this. It's incompetence and negligence.
They continually throw the dice and ignore critical data, gambling that nothing is going to happen.

Bush NEVER read the FEMA report. And for him to say what he said is an admission of that fact.
