major crack in the neo-con fantasy

IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THIS
Carol Brightman, AlterNet

What Team Bush faces in Iraq is more than guerrilla war. It is the first major crack in the larger neo-con fantasy of a forced reorganization of the Mideast.

1. I agree completely
It's sad the lies they told in order to try their little experiment.

What a stupid hypothesis in the first place.

3. It's such a criminal nightmare
but maybe their present arrogance has saved us from worse down the road. They've screwed up big time. Please let it end here.

2. The chilling truth
Equally important for U.S. strategic goals was to shock and awe not just the Iraqis but a wider Arab community with the terrifying spectacle of U.S. military technology.

So now what we've shown them instead is exactly how to defeat us, even after we "win."

4. B'rer Bush done gone and got hisself stuck on the Iraq Tarbaby
(Southern Black Dialect in context of Uncle Remus stories and not meant to offend)

I'd laugh to see the arrogant a**holes brought down except for the fact that our young men and women over there are paying the price as well as the Iraqis.

10. I think to those in Iraq and the ME
we appear clueless at this point as to how we are going to restore the people's "freedom".
I think the troops on the ground are beginning to feel exactly the same way. so sad for everyone

they are so outrageously arrogant it blinds them. OK you guys the game is up. War crimes trials anyone?

8. The major crack in the neo-con fantansy is actually
found right smack dab in the middle of the communal ass they all use for a head (which also explains the abundance of ecrement for brains).

11. Excellent article
It really captures the arrogance and stupidity of the Bush cabal. Iraq will undoubtedly prove to be the greatest foreign policy catastrophe we have ever engaged in, and as the article points out, the whole process begins with fewer advantages than we enjoyed in Vietnam. But the good news is that history seems to be running on fast forward these days and the whole thing is already beginning to unravel. In Vietnam, it took years to get to this point, both in terms of organizing public opposition and exposing the lies behind our policy.
