DUMB QUESTION: Anyone ever listen to Alan Colmes & like him?
Now that Air America is off Sirius and I still have the gear, I'm sometimes in place where I can't get AAR, and listen to Sirius left.

I listen to Colmes for a couple of minutes before I find him too weird and indirect. I'm wondering if I'm not giving the ass weasel enough of a chance. Does anyone have a reason why I should listen longer?

1. Nope.
Weasel covers it for me. No disrespect intended...just that he is not someone I can perceive as strong.

2. No
He's a wimp and doesn't want to make waves. He is just a token for Faux to say they are "fair and balanced".

5. Ummm. Maybe his mom.
But that's about it.

He is a milque-toast weenie. Can't stand to listen to him and watch him get steamrolled by O'Sean O'Hannity every night.

6. OK, I'll defend him.
I like listening to his radio show, if he spoke on H&C like he does on his radio show, I think people would give him alot more credit.

He doesn't take any crap from his callers or guests, although he does like to let them continue to talk so they can dig themselves deep into a hole, then he lets them have it.

One thing I noticed about his show that I do not like, is that hes always bringing up topics that have nothing to do with politics and listening seems like a waste of time.

One time he had "the last living munchkin" from the Wizard Of Oz on.

What's the point?

That said, I like him, because hes such a target for the extreme right since he's one of the only liberals they know of, he gets some really funny people calling in.

8. Has a right-winger **ever** been pissed off at Colmes?
He draws his main paycheck from Faux News. He is its official in-house liberal punching-bag.

That alone makes me shy away from him.

9. Did he ever do anything to make himself known as a "liberal commentator"
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 05:23 PM by kenny blankenship
before becoming Sean Hannity's nightstand kleenex box?
I know I'd sure as hell never heard of him.
As far as I can tell he has no past before showing up on FOX. Murdoch and Roger Ailes grew him in a test tube as the perfect liberal whipping boy.

10. Hell, no, man.
The term useless comes to mind. This is exactly why he is on Hannity's show. Colmes is pretty much a spineless jellyfish who supposedly represents the liberal, democratic voice. :wtf:

11. He really is quite the embarrassment
You would think FOX would want someone from the left who put up more of a fight cuz it would only draw more liberal viewers like myself from time to time and improve ratings. As it stands now, there's no way I can stomach that program. No F'ing way.

13. He is a straw man, a plant, a set-up guy, a punching bag . . .
He is such a disgusting excuse for a commentator, that he makes whatever he comments on worse than if nothing had been said. He works for the other side.

And he looks like a cross between a space alien and a timber wolf.

21. If I even try to IMAGINE doing what Colmes does,
I throw up a little in my mouth. There's no way I could actually do it. Sit there and smile while Hannity does vile things to me and then doesn't even bother to hand over a Kleenex. No WAY.

15. I feel like the other guy who said
Like him...yes

Respect him...Hell No!!!

Franken has his characterization dead on when talking about Colmes. To put it as blunt as I can Colmes has no balls. Hannity is the aggressor and Colmes hardly ever stands up to him. Colmes is even polite to that bitch ann coulter! If I was on a show with her it would be verbal war every time!

So he has lib credentials sure but Fox is very smart. They chose a guy who they know to be passive. So Colmes always looks almost apologetic in tone...

16. Ann Coulter
Ann coulter was on the show. He was treating her as if she mattered.
A true democrat/liberal would have questioned her about stealing the works of others.

I wouldn't admit to her fucking existence. She's irrelevant, a show.

20. I think I've listened to him for a total of five minutes.
He's far too weaseley. He's got no cajones. It annoys me how smarmy he can be.

In my opinion, no true self-respecting liberal would bend over and take it in the ass repeatedly the way he does. Nuh-uh.
