What's With All The Nazi Stuff On History Channel???

It seems like they always have Nazi-related shows on. For example, this week trhey've had a big series on the SS, and this morning it's "Hitler's Women." As I saw this, I seemed to recall that History Channel seems to have regular Nazi - related topics on. Have any of you noticed this?

There are a lot of documentaries about Nazis, and not all that many history documentaries. They have to fill their time with something. This is not new.

The channel is sometimes called "Nazis All Night".

doesn't make me want to spend money for cable/satellite.

It SHOULD, I love history...but I have little interest in WWII/Hitler era. I feel like I've learned enough about that...and while it's important, there are at least 3000 years of history (written- not counting pre-history) that they could be covering rather than all-Hitler, all the time.

13. It Seems To Be On A LOT, That's All

I do agree that it is important, especially in light of the fact that there are many who try to claim thyat the Holocaust never happened, but do we need to hear about it for most of the daily programming time?? As someone else in this thread suggested, how about more focus on Hitler's American bankers? How about Hitler's utter insanity, cruelty, homophobic, hate-filled, destructive, nature? Hitler is a stain on humanity. I'd like to see more olf a focus on that than "Hitler's Women," thank you.

11. It's cheap

You can just cobble together the same old clips with some shallow commentary and that's another hour of repeatable broadcasting.

Otherwise you might have to employ historians and researchers or even to commission and make proper tv progs.

19. Yes, It Is An Important Topic

We must never forget, never. I would like both sides presented on this topic, "Hitler's Women" doesn't seem like it address the tragedies that Hitler perpetuated. I don't care about his women. I want Hitler exposed to be the fucking bastard that he was. By the way, the series repeats AGAIN, for another FOUR HOURS (1-5 p.m. cst).

22. There is a lot of Nazi stuff,

but it was perhaps the central episode of 20th century history. Also, the Nazis filmed everything for propaganda purposes (and out of Teutonic thoroughness), so there's a wealth of material to package up. As a WWII buff, I finda lot of it interesting, but to each her or his own.
