She wrote in response to a letter by a repug who blamed Young Democrats for trashing their booth. He had no proof of this and was basically, acting like a repug. She takes him to task:

2. I was there that day!

I registered voters at the Dem booth all day at the Tempe 4th of July event. Yes, there were a few people (not all Young Dems BTW) who stopped by the Republican booth and I heard there were some arguments but I don't recall anything that rose to the level of harassment. I didn't go over there myself so I can't comment with authority on that, though.

However, I did stay until nearly midnight with 4 other people to help disband our booth. The Republicans, foolishly IMHO, left their stuff there and went home for the evening. When we left, their booth was untouched and there were several police and security personnel milling around the area on bike and in golf carts.

So if anything happened to their booth, it was in the middle of the night and who knows who could have done it. It may have been a person or persons who would have done the same to our booth had we been dumb enough to leave it there overnight. I hate to be cynical, but it wouldn't put it past them to do it to themselves in a little bit of Karl Rove type trickery.

I've already discussed the day's events with officials in the AZ Democratic Party and I plan to call them today to find out what they are doing to counteract this smear against us in the local media.
