Charles and Camilla visited the London wounded as per snipet on t.v.
They seemed to be so calm and such a reassuring presence to the wounded ... so unlike the wild-eyed images of blair or bush on the television screen ...

they seemed to be so human, so grounded in reality, so in touch with the human pain before them ...

it is so hard to even picture blair or bush doing the same, or with the same degree of calm or reassurance to the wounded. they (bush and blair) seem more like wild-eyed blood suckers feeding on the pain of the hurt and hurting.

1. I know some British DUers don't like the Royals
but I can't help but be glad that the Queen returned to London and now Charles and Camilla have been there to visit the wounded. They have shown a sharp contrast to the behavior of Bushco during and after 911....

3. You mean cause they weren't being jetted off to underground
bunkers and hiding? Or do you mean because they actually met with people that weren't cherrypicked?
Actually out amongst...gasp...the REAL people?
How dare they!

2. This is what Laura and the twins should be doing.

Visiting the injured and dying American soldiers who are fighting bush's war. But of course the bush family is too good for that. Maybe the twins are signing up right now for duty in Iraq, and pigs fly.

4. Call me crazy, but I wish the USA had a Monarchy...
with a chief of state above and removed from politics, and a head of government subject to the give-and-take of partisan politics. The notion of the pathetic * as the lofty chief of state, representing all of us to the world, is nauseating. He's protected even from the sight of protesters here at home, and he makes "state visits" to foreign countries so he won't have to face ordinary citizens there. I wonder if Her Majesty would forgive us if we asked nicely, and send HRH Prince Andrew over to be our Viceroy? Wouldn't that be a refreshing change? B-)

5. Not exactly the same as a visit from Diana, is it?
