Dowd's Clinton obsession
Even when trying to report on BushCo's dissembling and fabrications, she can't forget Monica. There must be 5 or 6 references to Clinton in her latest opinion piece. What's wrong with these whores?

1. Mo Dowd is on point - excellent Column - and I love Clinton and
agree she was unfair to both Bill and Hillary - but

this time she is right on IMHO (except for lies about sex life -peccadillos - being pathetic- it is the American way of life IMHO) and writing well.

Mo is into expensive clothes, a "New York" life style, etc - you got a problem with dat? (a feeble attempt at being funny :-) )

But she does answer my email - and we agree to disagree.

and this column is - again in my humble opinion IMHO - well done.

7. well done?
Comparing the Bush Regime to the legitimate Clinton administration is typical MW BS. They are always saying what liars both Clintons are, how they covered up and obstructed and all that. What a lot of hooey. Clinton had the most honest and open White House in history. It was the antithesis of everything BushCo is doing. Ask any rightwingnut to name a Clinton lie without mentioning Monica and they are at a loss for words. Or they make something up.

10. I agree
By focusing on Clinton she reveals the hypocracy of the Bush gang in stark contrast. If this had been the work of a DU poster and not a nationally known columnist, we would think it was great.

12. The trouble is
she wasn't contrasting them, she was equating them which is something I can guarantee we will see lots more of as Bush's lies get exposed (if they get exposed). Cintonian my cute little butt.

2. Maureen has a THING for the Clenis and it makes her crazy
that she will never have him, as have so many other women, apparently.

Furthermore, it makes her crazy that she wants him in the first place, despite her better angels and all that...

Look, Bill and Hill are not above criticism, but she does seem obsessed at times. Given all the time and ink she spent trying to destroy them late in Bill's term, she can hardly turn around and act rational now.

3. Mo the Ho
She's no better than the rest of the Ho's who stick their political fingers in the air just to stay employed. Dont'cha know that these Ho's are required to reference the Clintons at least once in their op-ed's just to pretend partiality...

4. Dowd is reminding people that Clinton was impeached for "lying"
She is also reminding Republicans about what they said was so unacceptable about Clinton. Every Republican who voted to impeach Clinton should be asked if they would vote the same way today. And justify their answer. Dowd is doing what the Republicans did. She is comparing Bush's behaviour with Clinton's. They say it is different. Dowd says it is worse. Don't worry about Monica. All the damage that could have been done to Clinton has already been done. Dowd is pointing out the double standard.

5. She is a pathetic whore whose loyalties blow with prevailing winds.
She cares only about herself; has no firm convictions. If Bush seems popular, she gushes admiringly about Bush. If he seems to be getting into hot water, she backs away from him. She always wants to be on the winning side. She's not stupid, just disgusting.

This particular column is an unusually good example of her style: some of it makes good points, some of it is perceptive; yet she's trying so hard to make everyone love her that she throws in all the cheap shots about Clinton. Tossing out the phrase about the "Clintonian environment" at the top is completely outrageous. I'm no Clinton fan, but on his worst day, he was NEVER as much of a liar as Bush is EVERY day.

6. I've been reading Maureen Dowd for years
And I have yet to see one column where she "gushes" over Bush. Please, if you can, provide me with ONE COLUMN where she's not totally making fun of him.

And I could care less how many people Bash clinton. He's the best Republican president this country ever had, as Michael Moore said.
