The tide IS turning--support for * is falling
The last couple of days I've had to do a lot of running around in the red tri-cities of eastern TN...more specifically, Kingsport, TN.

Normally, for every 'W' sticker I would see, there would be three or four yellow ribbons. The yellow ribbons are still all over the place, but I only saw one 'W' sticker and that was when I was almost home. No 'Don't be a girly-man' or any other repub supporting stickers.

That's not to say there aren't any, but the way I see it, there are a hell of a lot less 'W' stickers around here than there once was. I do believe some are seeing the light.

My day got brighter when I saw this sticker:

'Defend America/Defeat Bush'

1. Cool-- I like that sticker. I hope the tide really is turning...
Where I live, in the liberal Bay Area, I still see W
stickers-- not a lot but enough to make me :puke:

2. Here in Red State Missouri
I'm seeing a significant increase in Kerry stickers and/or Bush bashing stickers.

Its a day brightener!

3. It's the same way here
I still see the ribbons too but not so many W stickers or Bush/Cheney one's. I do see them still but not quite as much. :D I live in Chattanooga. We can go either way (in 1997 we had a democratic mayor, 2001-2005 republican and now a indie).

4. Bush Is Just A Symptom of A Larger Contagion
Buckaroo Bush is just a symptom of a far larger, far more serious contagion--modern-day so-called "conservatism." I won't believe that the US is turning away from the institutionalized follies practiced since 1995 (And in some places before) until there is a massive Ukraine-style voter revolt that sends elected Republicans and other right-wing opportunists streaming away from the nation's capital and from statehouses and governor's mansions across the land.

I'd be glad when Gee Dubya Bush packs his bags and leaves the White House, but I'm afraid that almost every Republican likely to win the GOP nomination in 2008 is as bad as the pResident--or WORSE.

Cleaning the Banana Republicans out of Congress and the Senate is also a "must"--otherwise we have to go through the same crap the Republicans pulled during the Clinton years.

I don't believe that the political tide is really turning until the GOP has genuine cause for wailing and lamentation.
