Anyone see Lou Dobb's crocodile tears???

When he was talking to Bill Moyers about the state of the press? Lou is REALLY concerned about it (yeah right, ya whore!).

ANyway, Moyers has a new book out that sounds really good. Didn't even catch the name of it, did anyone else? Sounded like the gist of the book concentrated on the growing gap between wealth and poverty in the US.

Always liked Moyers myself.

Lou ought to start his own clown show.

1. Moyers book
It did sound good, didn't it. Here's the title: Moyers on America: A Journalist and his times.

3. Dobbs has been against outsourcing, I thought?
He has been one of the strongest voices in the media against outsourcing, at least through all of last year. I remember him blistering some folks from the Chamber of Commerce or some free trade think thank on the air several times.

8. Right - he has been
going very strong against outsourcing for quite awhile.

Last Labour Day I gave copies of his book, "Exporting America: Why Corporate Greed is Shipping American Jobs Overseas" to a couple of my co-workers who think they have a right to call themselves "conservatives" when they support any old thing BushCo and the anarcho-capitalist radicals do just because they have the party label of GOP tacked onto their names.

I keep asking them what they are going to tell their children, who are growing up as members of the first generation of Americans who, as adults, will have less liberty, less equality, less opportunity, less social mobility and less education than the generations preceding them. They don't have answers but are getting mighty uncomfortable.

I keep telling them one day they will hear, "What were you doing, Daddy when BushCo and the radical right wing zealots were dismantling our once great and forward moving civilization in order to replace it with a global feudalist economic system straight out of the dark ages?"

4. Lou Dobbs is one of the few people in the media bringing to the......
forefront the serious problems that American corporations are creating for the future of this country. This is at least one person who talks about the problems in America, including outsourcing, and doesn't put candy coating on it. I really don't know what some people want from 'their' media. The exact opposite of Faux News, NO THANKS!!!! Just report the facts WITHOUT the spin from the far left or the far right!!

5. Lou showed outrage at the media
He asked "what's wrong with the media today?"

At that exact moment, scrolling below, was "Saddam Likes Doritos"

Enough said.

6. I couldn't disagree more
While I frequently disagree with Lou Dobbs, he does strike me as a person of principal and intelligence, who is genuinely concerned about the direction the country is headed.

He is one of the few real conservatives of the old school with an audience. I wish there were more of them, so we could have a civil conversation about where our country is headed, but their type has been all but driven from the top ranks of the GOP.

7. I agree
That interview was awesome. I don't agree with Lou Dobbs all the time, esp. on immigration issues, but he sure does seem to have integrity; moreso than most news anchors anyway.
