German history professor's speech annoys U of Maryland military grads
Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 04:38 PM by lebkuchen
Below is a commencement speech given by a German History professor to the University of Maryland University College students, largely US military, at Heidelberg, V Corp headquarters, last May. The speech was upsetting to several in the audience, as per a prior post:

Controversy lingers after UMUC speech some considered anti-American

Read for yourself what has upset America's military graduates from the University of Maryland. The URL to the speech was posted in today's "Stars and Stripes," as the fallout from the speech continues.

It's one of those "must reads."

1. Thank you...a MUST READ, indeed!
A nation that refuses to listen to words of caution from its friends will soon find itself at the mercies of its enemies. Let us hope and pray that the United States will begin listening, and the sooner the better.

2. The Chimp gets slammed
On September 15, 2001 President Bush told his advisors in Camp David: "At some point, we may be the only ones left. That's okay with me. We are America". In the present Iraq, the U.S. is indeed almost the only one left.
