Report A Piece Of GOOD Political News Here! Light At The End Of The Tunnel!
I'd like to go uncharacteristically positive this morning and ask you what good political news of late has given you some hope?

There are several obvious biggies - DMS I and II, Bolton floundering etc.

Anything you hear of late make you think that the Kool-Aid might just be starting to wear off?

U.S. Representative Walter Jones (news, bio, voting record) (R-NC) is seen in his office on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. June 15, 2005. Jones will co-sponsor legislation about calling for the truth regarding the Downing Street Memo and reasons how the U.S. got involved in Iraq. Reuters/Mannie Garcia

5. I think blaming Newsweek for riots was the turning point for the media...
essentially, this administration said: "we can abuse and murder our detainees, but if you report it, you're evil"

I think that even though they cowed newsweek into apologizing, it was a wake up call (finally!) and the media realized if they do nothing, they'll be removed.

its a little late and dollar short, but at least I think they are finally starting to word things and point out that the emperor at least is wearing hard to see clothes.

I think Rove and scotty overplayed that hand in their hubris, thinking they could just accuse ANYONE of their own crimes....well, they forgot that not all the media likes being threatened like that.

Is it enough to turn the tide? we'll have to see. But I DO think the media is starting to raise their hackles.
