Josh Marshall has nice rebuttal of the Clark-was-almost-a-Repuke
anecdote in Fineman's article. Turns out one of the Repubs who claim Clark said that is close to Rove. Hmmm....

1. Yeah, that is a good rebuttal
I'm surprised people here even believe that story.

2. I don't think they do.
Personally, I think most people realize it's not a big deal, but are using it anyway to diminish Clark.

Welcome to DU, btw!

7. I thought that was an odd statement.
From what I've heard from Clark thus far, it didn't seem characteristic. These days you have to take it all with a grain of salt. Best thing anyone can do is investigate, read, research, and observe before finally deciding on a candidate to support- but let's also remember that in the end our primary goal is to remove Bush!

Right now I like Dean, but I am keeping an open mind, and I will check out Clarke. I hear talk once again about Hillary Clinton, and I must confess if she jumps in I may jump ship.

What times we live in!

3. There is so much disinformation
around, it is hard to keep up.

Tonight on Mike Malloy a caller said that Clark had stated that Reagan and Nixon were good pres. Buzzzzzzzzzzz! What he actually said was that "bush is worst president since Nixon." Wow! that's a different take.

BTW, does the entire Clark called the WH story sound like something that Rove would make up. Liars need to have good memories.

When are we ever going to rid ourselves of there complete fucks?

4. Wow
I love the good blogs, mostly because they link to other blogs who link to the actual news stories. It's like a puzzle, but once you get through the mess a BIG lightbulb goes off and it's like.....

WOW

5. Pretty funny actually
This kind of looks like the 3 Stooges - when they bonk heads!

But why these things have been posted on DU as if they were true is what bothers me. We should expect a steady stream of "Clark bashing" planted material because Rove et al had been compiling this stuff for all the months Clark was thinking about running. It starts in Drudge, Limbaugh, WA TImes and other RW rags and radio shows and then it shows up on DU as if it was actual news.

I guess some Dean supporters consider they are working for their candidate, but to become a Rove Lt, disseminating their crap is pretty bad.

8. Anyone who is an enemy of Rove's is a friend of mine
Seriously, if the story has a shread of troof, and Rove personally blocked Clark, then Clark's OK in my book.

9. Rebuttal?
He was doing pretty well defending Clark until the last paragraph:

Meanwhile, Kevin Drum asks an awfully good question about how the White House suddenly became so forthcoming about phone record searches.

11. Sure - the WH (Rove) assisted
thinking that they were proving Clark a liar.
Clark was joking and 2 parties tried to turn it into a mini-scandal for Clark, one by insisting that Clark was serious (he is really a republican) and the other by insisting that Clark had never called Rove (Clark is a liar).

Clark was making a joke!!!

13. It's a sad damn day
when we go to such lengths to savage one of our own.

How do we know he's one of our own?

Because he's fucking standing with us. Right here, right now, that's good enough for me. We need all the friends we can get.

Especially since we also excel at the circular firing squad.
