We've Lost that Lovin' Feeling.........thanks to the Rightwing Brothers

When someone from abroad disses the US, I would LOVE to get in their face and stick up for my country.

I would love to have that feeling of pride back again like when I watched the Olympics as a kid growing up. I would love to look at the flag with the respect like I did during the Clinton years, when our country was more about decency and dignity.

I would love to have all these feelings back, but these cowards of a corrupt president & vice president, who are doing what everyone KNOWS is wrong, make having those feelings of pride & loyalty virtually IMPOSSIBLE for anyone with an inkling of intelligence or a conscience.

I don't know about you, but I wanna be proud again.

1. There can be no more love for BushCo and his right-wing neo-con...

....rethugs, then the love which our liberal parents had for Senator Joseph McCarthy and the senate committee members who conducted and harassed thousands of innocent people during and surrounding the Hearings on UnAmerican Activities during the 1950's. May shrub and all of the Bushcovites and those like-minded androids rot in their own stench and corruption. These so called right-wing brothers and sisters would just as soon stick a knife in every liberal free thinking person then look at us.

2. I heard on Air America

that there was a video showing American soldiers sodomizing Iraqi detainees as a form of torture. These were the pictures the ACLU has been trying to get released from the Pentagon for over two years.

Where was the brush administration when this was happening? Why, when they found out, didn't they make an all out effort to prosecute every single despicable person involved in this sickening behavior? Instead a handful of lowly soldiers were sent to jail for a few months. Brush should have stood up and promised to root out these sick bastards. Instead, he made a few casual remarks and swept it under the table.

I use to believe in this country. I use to believe the US of A represented honesty, integrity, and righteousness. I use to believe our leaders were honest. I guess brush proved me wrong.

3. I Never Loved A Country, I Loved The People

I was naive in thinking that all people had good and when you appealed to their sense of fairness and honesty, good things always happen. That was then, sure isn't the case now. This country has become a selfish, self-absorbed culture of arrogance and ignorance that makes me ashamed of what has happened in the past 25 years.

I was never into the flag waiving and the "my country right or wrong, love or it leave it". Instead I viewed in as my grandparents, who came over here a century ago did...a place where hard work is rewarded and dreams can come true. That's not the case now...unless that hard work is in swindling people out of their savings or self esteem.
