First, they have sold themselves as the hardheaded people unmoved by sentimentality that will look out for our best interests against the Muslim world that wants to destroy us.

They have also defined us as the Party that will blame America First and no matter what our reasoning,we are constantly put in the position of defending ourselves as people who will not use American power to further American intersts.

When they commit major crimes at home and abroad, pointing those out actually strengthens their image as those who are willing to face criticism to stand up for America.

I think the only way this spell will be broken is a for a major catastrophe to occur either in our economy or in the war abroad or for someone from the inside willing to come forward and spill the beans.
