Don't hate the players hate the game
The consolidated corporate media, the filibuster compromise, the repeal of first amendment rights are all symptoms of failed government. Unfortunately, we are witnesses to what can happen when well intentioned government goes awry. Our forefathers warned about the excesses we are living with, but no clearcut provisions were put in place to prevent them.

The fact is, none of the above travesties are against the the law. That's the problem. All the ranting and raving (from the peanut gallery yet) won't fix Humpty Dumpty. Government won't be fixed by government but by the people who are supposed to be represented by the government--us.

Priorities are in order. How do we fix our government?

2. Bingo.
Some things are sacred--like voting, like the Constitution. We've depended on good faith for too long. We must assure that concrete laws exist to prevent what we are seeing from repeating itself.

3. Street riots at appropriate times would be a good start.
Peaceful if that's allowed, otherwise not.
Jefferson knew what he was talking about.

5. Plenty of What they Do is Against the Law
Edited on Tue May-24-05 08:29 PM by AndyTiedye
Threatening voters is against the law. Stealing elections is against the law.
State laws on how to do recounts were violated.

They did a Watergate on the Congressional Dems' computer system.

Isn't there still a War Powers act?

The war against Iraq violates international law. Presenting made-up
evidence to the UN to support going to war is probably another violation.

Exposing the identities of CIA agents is a major felony.

The relationship between Halliburton and Cheney violates all the laws
about conflict of interest, and what happened to the billions of dollars
that seem to have gotten "lost" on their way to Iraq?

Not to mention all the ways in which the Patriot act violates the Constitution.

Then there is what happened to the late Senator Wellstone's plane,
and the late Senator Carnahan's plane, and the anthrax they sent to
former Senator Daschle.

Then there is MIHOP.
