Bush is one pissed-off MoFo this morning!
Especially that part of the "agreement" that Byrd slipped in that asked for "advice and consent"...Why should he have to talk with anybody? He's the president! He'll get even, he swears to himself as he steams off to play with Saddam's pistol in the backroom...

1. What does "advice and consent" entail exactly.....
...and how does that affect future senate votes and the nuclear option?

7. It entails that the president notifies the minority leader about
his selection. Reagen did it as did Clinton.

11. So Dumbya has been nominating judges and bringing them to
...the senate floor where the democrats are then expected to vote on them without knowing anything about them or being given any time to research and investigate them? What a sneaky bastard!

13. With this compromise will Dumbya still be able to do that?

17. Accordingly, no! But who knows what will happen? I expect
that the repukes will call for another filibuster when they fine tune their propaganda machine.

5. This sounds like a good time to replay Bush's remarks to Bob Woodward:
"I'm the Commander--see, I don't need to explain--I don't need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being President. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel like I owe anybody an explanation."

20. Something else I was stunned at
Late last year Tom Brokaw had a thirty minute special about all he's seen over his career. He showed him interviewing Bush and Tom told Bush that Clinton's raitings were at 60% and Bush gave this look like "so what?" and shrugged his shoulders and said "I'm President now."

6. What Part of CONSENT Do They Not Understand?
They are supposed to advise, which means the nominees should be vetted by that advice, and then Senators need to CONSENT! They seem to be troubled by that otherwise simple word.

in this country if the filibuster had gone though and he knows it!

Public opinion was 70% against the filibuster and the folks were waking up. Now they can go back to sleep.

16. You know what really bothers me about this
The media acts like it is normal. Bush complains about checks and blanaces, and the media doesn't question it.

Rather than remind the public that Congress has to approve his nominees, they just mention how "the president is upset with congress for not approving his nominees".

Well, tough shit, Bush. That's their job.

The fact that he doesn't like it really speaks volumes about his personality and his preffered governing style ("A dictatorship would be easier") and the fact that the media treats this as normal is very alarming.
