What's Wrong with Michael Moore?- An original essay
Edited on Sat May-21-05 05:59 AM by AmericanErrorist
In 1989, Michael Moore, a Irish Catholic who up until this point noticeably was on a bunch of left-wing newspaper mastheads including the world-famous Mother Jones in San Francisco; not to mention, the youngest president of a school board in US political history (18, which means that unless the voting age is lowered, Mike will own this record for all eternity) left the formerly booming General Motors plants (where many members of his immediate family worked) in Flint, Michigan (Mike was born in a suburb of Flint), to make a comic documentary about how Roger Smith, the then head of GM, closed all of its plants in Flint and basically left the town to wither on the vine, if you want to know more, please see this movie (of which I highly recommend), it is available at many places where DVDs are sold. What title should you look for? Roger & Me.

... and I drone on like this for 5 1/2 pages, all in one blog post. If you're interested, go to

If you aren't interested, Congratulations! You Have A Life! Report to Board 101 now, where EarlG and Skinner will adiminster your punish-- er, reward! Lobster* knows I don't have one.

* That is a reference to Adam Felber's blog, Fanatical Apathy at http://www.felbers.net/fa I highly recommend it.

1. Can the NDP be used as a fulcrum against US neoliberals?
Maybe someday. But not before they do something about NAFTA on their own turf.

If anything, Latin America now has a better chance of promoting social democracy here than does Canada.

5. No problem!
Wikipedia knows all and sees all:

Left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore is portrayed as a suicide bomber; Stone explained the reason for this portrayal in an MSNBC interview: "We have a very specific beef with Michael Moore... ...I did an interview, and he didn't mischaracterize me or anything I said in the movie < Bowling for Columbine >. But what he did do was put this cartoon right after me that made it look like we did that cartoon."
