When AND If Democrats regain Congress
Edited on Thu May-19-05 07:09 AM by ck4829
Maybe it's just me, but I would like to see the Democrats CRUSH the RW if and when they regain Congress.

Our Agenda:
1. Impeach Bush
2. Can we get the IRS to get groups such as Focus on the Family?
3. Make a bill which basically calls the 'christian' Right and other RW Groups "Evil and bad for America"
4. Make another bill which declares that groups that are more focused on 'moral values' than on REAL ISSUES ought to be ashamed of themselves.
5. Impeach Cheney
6. Impeach everybody else in the Bush Administration
7. Government provided Health Care for those who can not afford it
8. A New 9/11 Commission

1. Well, let's not get the horse before the cart.
First lets win some seats.

6. agreed
The way things have been going the past several years, I'd be happy if we picked up a couple of seats in the Senate and maybe 10-15 seats in the House. We should be able to pick up more with a good, aggressive national campaign, but I'm going to be (gasp) conservative in my hopes.

What I'd really like to do is follow the DeLay precendent. If we can get Dems in governor's offices in California and New York, re-district the hell out of those states so we can pick up 10+ seats that way.

2. I'm down with everything except 3 and 4.
3 and 4 guarantee us only a one term domination.

We'll gain control again. 2006 will be our year. 2005 will be our year to win local elections.

3. Oh and one more thing,..
Rescind the ariticles of impeachment against Bill Clinton and expunge them from the record. Erase that whole episode from history.

But the others are right. Don't pull the cart before the horse.

5. And You'd Sell This In My Suburb How???
Nice dream...we all have 'em. Now back to planet earth.

While I agree with your sentiments, none would ever stand an ice cube's chance of hell in happening, and some could happen without the government...and should be.

From where I see it, there are still many Democrats still sitting on their hands and playing the games I've seen in the past..."let someone else do it". I rarely read here about developing local parties and candidates or candidates that are trying to organize their races (I used to see some of those here in the past)...also very little from the DNC, DNCC or DSCC about their strategy for next year. Crush? Right now we'll be lucky to hold onto seats we currently have.

Yep, we all have lots of frustration and anger, but I'm still seeing a lot of circular firing squads. This Democrat fighting with that one...special interests standing on their ground and not working with others and this chasm has grown wider since the election, not closer. You're not gonna win elections that way.

Dream on...we all need them. But I'm not seeing anything positive going on about Democrats taking the offensive here. Most are just hoping Repugnicans over-reach and they beat themselves. Not a smart strategy.
