British Lawmaker Denies Oil-For-Food Claim
By KEN GUGGENHEIM, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON -- British lawmaker George Galloway vehemently rejected a Senate subcommittee's claim that Saddam Hussein awarded him lucrative allocations under the U.N. oil-for-food program and accused its chairman of maligning his good name.

The subcommittee, chaired by Minnesota Republican Norm Coleman, claimed that Galloway allegedly funneled allocations through a fund he established in 1998 to help a 4-year-old Iraqi girl suffering from leukemia and received allocations worth 20 million barrels from 2000 to 2003.

"I am not now nor have I ever been an oil trader and neither has anyone on my behalf," Galloway testified Tuesday. "I was an opponent of Saddam Hussein when British and American governments and businessmen were selling him guns and gas."

Coleman later questioned Galloway's testimony. "If in fact he lied to this committee, there will have to be consequences," Coleman said at a news conference after the hearing.

1. Coleman's words, but where are the words of Galloway who
accused Coleman of taking free trips to Israel and he also made comments about Coleman's campaign contributions. I've read half a dozen sites and can't find that in our dear fair MSM's reporting! Does anyone know if there is a full transcript of today's hearing? Thanks.

(Coleman later questioned Galloway's testimony. "If in fact he lied to this committee, there will have to be consequences," Coleman said at a news conference after the hearing.

Asked whether Galloway violated his oath to tell the truth before the committee, Coleman said: "I don't know. We'll have to look over the record. I just don't think he was a credible witness." )

2. Welll, that's very Coleman-like, isn't it

Asked whether Galloway violated his oath to tell the truth before the committee, Coleman said: "I don't know. We'll have to look over the record. I just don't think he was a credible witness."

Too scared to confront the man to his face, Coleman resorts to snippets carried by a friendly press to attack Galloway.

"I just don't think he was a credible witness," the lickspittle neocon says. No proof provided -- just want to slam the man after he's left the room, since Galloway is apparently too terrifying to confront in person.

Minnesota: Coleman is embarrassing your state.

3. Of course he doesn't
Of course he doesn't because he knows his ass will be on fire if the truth came out. The oil-for-food scandal makes perfect sense though. Bush needed someway to make the UN uncrediable to the American people so that's where this whole ordeal comes through. If the UN was still crediable to the American people then he couldn't have gone to Iraq.
