Apology, why? Why would Bu$h ever apologize?
He stole an election in 2000. It's what he wanted. He took it.

Why would he apologize?

He let children read to him while exactly what he needed to happen, happened.

Why would he apologize?

He needed an excuse to go to Afghanistan to build a pipeline. Osama obliged.

Why would he apologize?

He intended to go for oil in Iraq. Saddam obliged.

Why would he apologize?

He needs perpetual anger in the Muslim world. Gonzales obliged.

Why would he apologize?

He needs to scare folk in the Congress. The little plane that could, obliged.

Why would he apologize?

BU$H kills whomever, whenever, and taunts -- 'Bring'um on.'

Why would he apologize?

To stop the evil BU$H, stop looking for apologies or accountability.

Use the law and use every peaceful means to deny cash-flow to the corporate machine.

And, don't apologize.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - Be it MNA Day 3 or 8 or 15 or .... the day will come when 10s of millions of Americans and others stop their typical activities for 24 hours and urge 10 times that many to join should another MNA Day be required. On that glorious day America will have begun truly to be "America," again.

1. We need to keep this firmly in mind. And here are links re 9/11 complicity
Update & links for David Ray Griffin's historic work - televised! - on the Bush administration's complicity in the 9/11 attacks. In addition to video and audio links to the Madison lecture, there is an audio link to a 60 min Pacific Radio interview with Griffin (bringing out more points) and more:

4. Before you can apologize, you need to have a grip on truth
or at least, shared reality.

To steal from a weekend thread, this man is a fake. A fake Texan, fake rancher, fake Christian. Fake leader, fake uniter, fake defender against terror. Fake champion of education, of freedom or democracy. Fake elections, fake president.

He can try to "create reality" but he can't change the truth.

He has spread fear, distrust and torture. He has bankrupted the middle class, abandoned the most vulnerable among us. And he and his cabal will continue merrily on this obscene course unless they are stopped.

Because there is no core decency there. There is only fakery.

Apology? They are probably having a good ol' backslapping session right now.

How do you like that?

5. Yes - it is so OBVIOUS what he is. Remember him cracking "jokes" before
executing that female prisoner in Texas? Even the pope had intervened on her behalf. But our "culture-of-life" (p)resident was laughing at his own joke about how she begged for her life, "Please don't kill me!" He thought that was hilarious.

This is a man with not even a vestige of decency and with boundless greed and a positive zest for malice and destruction. How can ANYONE not see it? Even the usual ploy of having him speak only with canned, short presentations - prompted through his wireless receiver - and then having bully-collaborator talking heads carry on about what a fine leader he is, how resolute he is, blah blah blah isn't enough to cover him.

I think the problems are that there are large segments of the US population are
1. People who have stopped paying attention
2. People who are denying how horrible things really are
3. People who don't see a positive alternative to the crinimal cartel that has seized the nation.

Getting the truth out, and VERY IMPORTANTLY FORMING A POSITIVE, WELL-PLANNED ALTERNATIVE to the criminal cartel's schemes have never been more vital.

10. "2. People who are denying how horrible things really are" ... yes.
We've gone from a phony 'silent majority' to a very real majority of fellow citizens who are consciously suppressing the reality that Bu$h and his neoconster buddies have transformed America into an evil imperialistic plutocracy.

Or, in terms that that majority is more likely to frame the situation -- they realize America is now controlled by a few rich folk who are brutally and illegally seeking to dominate the world's supply of oil and natural gas.

Peace.

7. We can live stoop shouldered under this neo fascism
and watch or not, as the government we fund spreads death and destruction around the world. Ignoring the hatred they create, because they believe somehow, that hatred has no consequences for their elite @sses.

This is a small planet. And even the least among us know about consequences -- surely, we know more about consequences like joblessness, sickness, hunger and homelessness better than George. W. Bush does.

Maybe he believes he can ignore the consequences of hatred. And, maybe he's surrounded by people who desperately want to believe they, too, will suffer no consequences for their crimes.

We know we cannot. This small sphere will only bear so much. Whether it be American mothers bearing deformed children as a result of depleted uranium used on foreign soil, or our elderly going without medicine, food or shelter because our treasury is being plundered even now. We know we can't allow this.

No denial can protect us from this administration's utter disregard for the American people, indeed, from their disregard for the other 99% of humanity.

Join us. Peacefully assert the law of this nation.

12. "No denial can protect us from this administration's utter disregard ...
.... for the American people..."

As you realize, if the transition is a sudden jolt from the denial then the outcome is most likely going to be mass violence.

We need those who are capable of motivating without calls to violence to become much more vocal and visible -- in ways that the corporate media are forced to cover.

One suggestion:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3632200#3640773

Perhaps if Chris Heinz or Elizabeth Edwards or others happen to read this thread, they could begin making calls. I certainly don't have the contact info for the type of folk who could lead "Truth Tour, America" - if I did, I would have already been motivating them to get on with it.

Peace.

U.S. CONGRESS MOVES AGAINST IRAN

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Congress has decided to support efforts to overthrow the Islamic regime in Iran.

A bill has been introduced in the Senate that would support the opposition in Iran. The legislation, termed the Iran Freedom and Support Act, would require that the United States work to ensure a referendum in Iran on the type of regime sought by the people.

The legislation was introduced by Sen. Rick Santorum, a Pennsylvania Republican and a member of the GOP leadership in the Senate. Santorum has served as chairman of the Republican Conference and the third-ranking member of the Senate Republican leadership.

Why May 19, 2005 is a very special day...

May 19, 2005 is the 1,346th day since the attacks of 9/11.

That is the same length of time from the attack on Pearl Harbor to the end of WWII on V-J Day. (Dec 7, 1941 to Aug 24, 1945)

18. 1346 Days.
Sal316
Thu May-19-05 12:05 PM

1346 Days.
This morning, I heard that it's been 1346 days since 9/11. Why is this so important? Well, 1346 days after Pearl Harbor, WWII was ending. We had achieved VE and VJ day, defeating two of the most powerful militaries of their day in a brutal two front war.

As of today, Osama has 'evaded capture' for 1346 days. In the past 1346 days, we have seen a two-front war that has yet to yield any semblance of victory.

We have seen the US squander nearly $300 billion dollars.
We have seen the US sanction torture and hang a few lowly soldiers out to dry.
We have seen over 10,000 of our brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, and friends sustain life altering injuries.
We have seen over 1600 of our soldiers make the ultimate sacrifice.
We have seen the 'insurgency' in Iraq go from 25 car bombs in 2004 to 21 car bombs in May 2005 alone.
We have seen billions lost through the CPA.
We've seen Halliburton get bonus after bonus for failing to supply our troops and failing to rebuild Iraq.
We've seen no reconstruction progress and the cancellation of the water treatment system rebuild in Halabja, the neocon rallying point where 'Saddam gassed his own people'.

What haven't we seen in 1346 days?
Any victory.
Osama's, Mullah Omar's, or Zwahiri's capture.
Full equipment support for our soldiers in harm's way.
Accountability for the abject failure of Iraq and Afghanistan from this administration.

How much longer are the American people going to put up with this? To me, the answer of 'one more day' is unacceptable.

I really don't know what the answer is. Things have gotten so completely out of control that I fear there is no simple solution. It's going to take decades to repair the damage this administration has done.

What scares me is, I don't know where to start.

Keep up the fight.
Peace
Christian aka Sal316

19. 1346 Days of unrelenting neoconification have rendered "America"...
.... an entity of the past.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3688434

"America" has been neoconified into a ruthless plutocracy -- the Bu$h.com imperialistic regime.

Will we restore "America" as a Constitutional democracy, peacefully, or will we have to endure what the Germans did between 1934 and 1945 before they were able to begin the process of re-creating a democratic "Germany"?

Peace.
