The guy was in Sacramento last Weds, the 3rd stop in a week long west coast AAR broadcasting tour. He appears to be working very hard for us. I hope he takes good care of himself.

1. He should stay on the air instead of running for senate
he has far more influence as a broadcaster.

2. I thought
that he was going to be finishing his contract with AAR instead of running? Is he running this year or in 2008?

8. He said that he was seriously considering running in 08
which would mean he is going after Coleman's seat, and I hope he does because he's one of the good guys and he has a decent shot at winning. I don't care what anyone says about his politics (which are to the right of mine) he's done as much as one person could possibly do for the Democratic party in the last few years...hell without him, we would not have AAR

4. Saw him on Bill Maher last night. He looked ok..but I guess that was the
makeup. He has been traveling all week.
Gore Vidal was also a guest, He was so good. He did not say much, but what he said was priceless. Dry wit and sharp, cutting humor.

5. I met him over a year ago at a book signing
About 3 months before Air America was launched and he seemed tired then.
He is still a "tireless champion" of the cause though.

I agree, that I would like him to stay in broadcasting, but at the same time, if he could get rid of Coleman, and become a new and even more influential Wellstone, that would be a great thing too.

I miss Paul so damn much.

6. Al Franken
although I always don't support him, I have to admit he is working hard to get the Democratic word out. There is no way I will not listen to him entirely, he is for middle america. I just don't support his ditto head.

Al Franken should be tired, his schedule must wear on him. His wife should be admired.

9. He is more powerful at the microphone then he would be as a
politician. He has more power every day to shape policy on Air America and with his books then he would have in Congress. I hope he doesn't run, but stays in for the long haul as a commentator and writer. I love Al FRanken!!!

10. Al Franken Has Done an Outstanding Job
I am so grateful for him and Air America. That, along with DU makes me feel like I'm not going nutz. Unfortunately, it seems like few people who enter politics are able to do much, especially in the recent climate. The good people all get destroyed by smear campaigns, et al. I honestly don't know how they can stand it.

12. I didn't like him on Bill Maher show
Edited on Sat May-14-05 05:51 PM by therapist
He was basically shilling on 2 biggest issues - "we need stay the course in Iraq", "2004 election results were dirty, but we should forget it and move on".. Thanks god for Gore Vidal.

He looked very reserved and calculated. I miss dynamic, free spirit and independent Al.

11. I wuld support Al...
In anything he chooses to do. Period.

It's his life. Let him live it as he sees fit, as long as it is not destructive to himself or others.

14. Al's one of the good guys...
He takes a lot of flak for not going hard core but there are other people who do that. He's been tireless for several years getting the message out and unlike the opposition is careful to check his facts and make sure it's the REAL truth.

You go Al. I'll support him whatever he does.
