Why wouldn't you fall into this trap?

http://www.heritage.org/press/

It's all there for you. "Experts," research, "Computer Assisted Research and Reporting (e-mail alerts)--you name it.

You sit at your PC, do your 9 to 5, and never break a sweat or have to drink a double latte somewhere where they don't know how to make it your way.

You start out as an idealist, sure. But soon enough, you want to be famous, you want to marry a windbag radio talk show star.

So hey, someone told you about this "Computer Assisted Research and Reporting" from the Heritage Foundation. You know the Heritage Foundation is the administration behind the administration, but dammit, it's Friday and you're tired.

You try it just this once...

It's dangerous to think that the media's problem is ONLY corporate ownership. I think this problem (grimly detailed in David Brock's "The Republican Noise Machine")is almost as dangerous and far more insidious.

You don't have to search endlessly for an expert on Latin American textile prices. Just call HF, and one is on the way in minutes; like this:

Breaking news and issues happening now?
Our experts are available 365 days a year. To arrange an interview, call the Media Hotline at (202) 675-1761 or email Media Relations.

Can't come up with an original thought to save your life? No problem...

Sure they're PNAC operatives. Sure they have Trusttes like Richard Mellon Scaife, numerous Coors family members, Steve Forbes, etc.

Sure, their experts include Jerry Falwell, et al.

But it's just this once. It's Friday, and it's your weekend to have the kids...

1. Yep sheer laziness is a bigger problem than
pro-administration bias. Because it's more long term. And because Republicans/Conservatives have proven better at feeding the beast.
