FOX News Bill O'Reilley loses 1.2 MILLION viewers since October
On May 6th, MediaBistro's TVNewser editor, Brian Stelter, wrote: "In response to this morning's post about Paula Zahn's ratings, a CNN insider says: 'FNC should be less concerned with Zahn's performance and more concerned with the fact that O'Reilly continues to hemorrhage viewers month-over-month since October.' Here are the monthly averages: October: 3,166,000 / November: 3,080,000 / December: 2,610,000 / January: 2,478,000 / February: 2,391,000 / March: 2,320,000 / April: 2,178,000 / May-to-date: 2,096,000"

*** I have always said that Fox News and the rest of the conservative nonsense would not last. You cannot build a business (or presidency) based on lies. It catches up to you eventually as it apparently has caught up to O'Reilly. Lets see if the ratings continue to slide for O'Reilley and if Zahn or even Oberman catches up or surpasses him... Oberman needs about 1.2mm viewers to go to catch up. I hope he does as it will show the corporate media that left leaning, progressive media has a definite market.

He lost a THIRD of his audience. Expect some desparate stunts in the coming weeks.

Ahh....the sweet smell of cancellation.

I hope Mr. O'Reilly has enjoyed his fifteen minutes of fame and does the right thing: retire into oblivion.

53. Zahn was the only reporter that I seen during the campaign....
Who actually corrected the deceptive Rovian RW talking points that the Shrub minions kept preaching every time they got on tv. Zahn corrected Shrub minions several times, and she never let one of their lies get by her, when I watched her. Unlike all the other stupid media whores, who didn't have a clue about what the truth was.

If she is a right winger, at least she didn't allow the Rovian Propaganda get by her during the few times I seen her. I can't say that she always corrected the record when she was on, but at least she made Ralph Reed out to be a pathetic LIAR.

13. We need to get this on every blog possible...
I suspect that nothing drives Roger Aile's or Rhumpert Murdoch more crazy than to have the cold realization that their Faux News channel is not infallible. O'Reilly has been their biggest star for years. If he goes down can Hannity be far behind? Who know but based on the O'Reillys slide it could happen.

We should get this on every blog possible. If anything just to piss off the Fox Kool-Aid drinkers!

19. I don't think so about a post president election slide...
O'Reilly's break out year was 1999/2000 and his ratings have increased since then. His big break was 9/11 and his ratings have helped Fox News get to number one. If he goes and the same thing happens to Hannity they (Faux News) will run into some trouble staying number one.

I think nearly everyone with half of a brain realizes
what a joke Savage is, but one wonders how far Fox thinks it should go to maintain their status as a mouthpiece of the right. My only exposure to Fox News these days is when I'm at my local YMCA and it happens to be one of the four designated channels on the TVs located in the cardio workout area (no option for users to change the channel, as they are located out of reach). I have to practically laugh out loud at times, purely on the basis of the way material is presented in contrast with their alleged "Fair & Balanced" philosophy! :eyes:

Fox News replaces O'Reilly with a panel of commentators in an attempt to redeem the favored time slot held by O'Reilly. Father, Son and Holy Ghost will take the mike on Monday with a lively panel discussion providing viewers insight and guidance toward the coming Rapture.

The feature will move to a 24-hour format later this year in anticipation of the 2006 elections.

down since the last election. Think about it--his peak is October? The last month of the most hotly-contested Presidential race of all time? When it ramps up for '06, we'll see what happens then. And no, I'm not a fan of the splotchy bully, I'm just not quite as optimistic as y'all.

52. I've always believed..
.... that reality will win out over right-wing rhetoric every time, it just takes time.

Time for ordinary folks to realize that they are being fed bullshit. And they way they find that out is when wars that were s'posed to be a cakewalk wind up taking years and years.

And when the economy is NOT doing that well for them or their families and friends, all while the talking heads keep telling them everything is coming up roses.

The apogee of the short hold the right-wing had on America has already passed, they just haven't figured it out yet.

I think this article may be deceptive. Last fall with the elections a lot of people were tuned into political oriented shows.

I think a better barometer would be to compare current ratings against those of this time last year.
