How I *KNOW* bush LIED...
Forget all the proof now in the public domain that shows very clearly bush in fact lied. L.I.E.D.

Deliberately. On purpose.

Forget all of that.

I *KNOW* bush lied, because I can so easily prove that I myself knew what we now know, and what bush has himself since admitted -although he blames "bad intelligence":

Iraq had nothing to do with the 911 attacks; Iraq had no ties to al Qaeda; Iraq had no WMD.

I knew this before bush's invasion. I can prove that, as I'd posted all over the net (and been attacked, demonized, cyber-stalked etc etc etc for doing so).

So here's how I *KNOW* bush very deliberately on purpose lied his ass off:

There is simply no way *I* (and millions of others) knew there was no WMD, no ties to al Qaeda and no ties to 911, yet the President of the United States was "duped".

Simple.

1. yup
If he was "duped" then he's too stupid to be president, and if he wasn't duped, then he lied. Simple as that.

Shrub told the lie so many times I think he actually was starting to believe it was true.

Chimpy wasn't duped...he duped the rest of us.

5. You're preaching to the choir.
We know he did.

We are 99% sure he cherry-picked the intelligence.

The recent Brit memo leak, shows he was going after Iraq even before he had a reason.

Powell stood in front of the UN with DRAWINGS of things they assured the rest of the world were real.

What can I or anybody else say? We were lied to. We're still being lied to.

Now, what do we do about it?

7. Me, too, Lynn
I couldn't believe I couldn't believe Powell as we watched the drawings of ice cream trucks in ditches and vials of powdered sugar.

This whole country has been PTSDed on purpose. I swear, there's an op ed there -- tracking how we've been traumatized into compliance.

Problem is, some of us still haven't completely broken with reality.

We keep them up at night, bet me. :)

35. the bushites remind me of the family of a destructive, raging alchoholic
denial, enabling, misplaced rage, scapegoating, creating other crises, religiosity (I guess to try and create a fantasy of safety in the midst of chaos)......

And we Lefties are the kids who dare to tell the truth to the family that is desperately doing everything they can to reinforce their denial. That's the kind of thing that really pisses people off.

This administration needs an intervention...
...oh yeah, that would be IMPEACHMENT

11. I still think that is hard to prove
I prefer to nail him on economics. You can prove he is lying by doing the math.
"Q Mr. President, Democrats in Congress think that this plan, as it's structured now, is weighted too heavily to the higher income brackets. Are you willing to work with them to perhaps change the ratios a little bit, if that's what it takes to get their support?
THE PRESIDENT: I believe the plan, strongly believe the plan that I have submitted is structured the right way. I've heard all the talk about class warfare and this only benefitting the rich. I think when people take a good, hard look at the rate reduction and who benefits and the fact that our plan erases inequities in the tax code, or eases inequities in the tax code; and that the biggest -- the bottom end of the economic ladder receives the biggest percentage cuts, people will come to realize it.

I think it's important to cut all tax rates, yes." Feb 5, 2001

My comment on that:

'"The bottom end of the ladder receives the biggest percentage cuts". That is almost the ultimate lie. Notice how he had to stop what he was saying, in order to get the wording right. His wording was a way to say something which was technically correct, but which would sound like: "this plan benefits poor people more than it does rich people." It is a way to distort the truth, and turn a small number into a big percentage.'

He distorted the truth, and that is lying. As I said earlier in my paper where I presented a dozen of his lies. "My Oxford desk dictionary defines "lie" as "being deceptive" and also "twist the evidence or facts" and "misrepresent or distort or falsify the evidence"."

I know he is a liar because I can do the math. If he cannot be trusted on something which is as objectively verifiable as math, he cannot be trusted on anything.

16. How is it hard to prove? Either I am smarter and knew more than the
President of the United States.

Or the President of the United States lied.

Fact: I knew.

Fact: bush says he didn't know and was just duped.

There are ONLY 2 possibilities;

1. bush lied

or

2. bush is dumber than a box of rocks.

17. that "you knew" is not a fact
You were certain and the facts later proved you correct.
Does that prove that "you knew"?

I will give you an example. One day I was playing basketball in my driveway. I could not even buy a basket. Nothing was going in and I was chasing rebounds all the way across the yard. Finally I kicked the ball across the street about to my neighbor's front step. I went to get the ball and decided to throw it at the basket. I said to myself "watch, I will make this shot". I heaved it like a baseball, and for a while I thought I was wrong because the ball bounced on the driveway. However, it was one bounce and in. Did I know I was going to make that shot? Well, I said I would and did, but clearly I could not have known even if events did prove me correct.

It is similar to a stock pick. Bush is getting info from advisors, and you are doing your own research. Your stock pick works, but that does not prove that you knew, only that your information may have been better. So the advisors are idiots and Bush is gullible. The researchers that you trusted were more reliable (since your information was probably second-hand as well).

Ah well, I am just kicking up dust, and you are certainly correct and I agree with you as well. When I went to protest in February I was pretty sure that Saddam had no WMD.

Then again, I would replace that "or" with an "and". I feel that Bush isn't very smart, nor is he very curious. Not curious enough to do independent research, or seek contrary opinions and not smart enough to understand the math he is lying about.

According to David Brooks, the right wing academia is the accountants and physicists.
I pride myself on being an Isaac Asimov who can make science and math interesting, fun, and comprehensible, but I secretly love it when their eyes glaze over since they are admitting that I am smarter than them (at least in math, but as Bender said "I could care less about trigenometry" and he knows not only how to make a lamp, but also how to get to make out with the prom queen) :banghead:

25. And I'm an accountant, you're a math'ian, so that theory won't fly, lol!
Well, most of em are dumber than dirt, and those who aren't are either smart enough to know what a loser bush is, or won't care whatever your proof is, and are then forced to my proof, where they're forced to either admitting bush lied, or that bush is one of the stupidest MFers on the planet.

We get them coming and going! :D

21. I don't care for the basketball analogy.
...Unless there were experts around measuring the speed and the trajectory of your shot and producing charts and graphs showing whether or not it would make it, as it flew.

The result of your shot was inherently unknowable. Not so for the situation in Iraq in 2002. The analogy doesn't hold up.

22. I thought of that too
but it was an example of a prediction that came true.
Plus I was kinda hoping it was a funny story.
The stock market analogy doesn't work either for the same reason, both are about predicting the future whereas the question was about WMD in real time.
You probably knew I was going to say that.

18. I have thought this so many times!
How is it possible that I, a random citizen of Columbus, Ohio, knew full well during the run-up to the Iraq War that there were no WMD in Iraq, and no 9/11 connection, while our PRESIDENT, with access to the entire American intelligence apparatus, was "all wrong"? Answer: it's not possible. He knew it too. They all did.

It seems to me that the truth was obvious from statements by the inspectors and other experts with long-standing knowledge of the area. But Bush doesn't listen to facts or experts.

Oh, and I knew we wouldn't be "greeted as liberators" also. AND I knew that the oil revenues would never pay for the "reconstruction". I must be a real genius. Where's my Medal Of Freedom?
