3. Apparently a direct quote from Bob Jones University
another fundamentalist Christian school in South Carolina.

"Does the University believe that those who choose interracial marriage do so out of rebellion against God? No. It does believe, however, that often the promoters of it do so out of antagonism toward God because they are often the same entities that promote homosexuality, abortion, and other forms of social radicalism."

7. Yeah, I guess that's why I have been with my g/f for over a year
Because I hate God, and wanted to provoke him. So I did something radical like find an African American girl that I could date. And, then, to make God even more angry, I fell in love with her.

That ought to piss him off good.

4. I had a friend who went to...
Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, which has the "distinction" of being the bible university Falwell graduated from. Students had to sign pledges for dress codes as well as pledges not to listen to certain radio stations, not to buy certain music, not to watch certain tv shows, and going to the movies might have been banned outright, not sure. Facial hair was not allowed except under certain conditions.

Anyway, most of that was pretty much ignored by my friend, who is a brilliant amateur musician, movie-buff, and beard-grower. He went to our small-hometown doctor (the only Jewish guy in town) and asked him for a note saying that he had a facial condition that prevented him from shaving on a regular basis. The doctor asked why and when told he said, "So basically you want me to lie to Baptists? Cool!"

I went there to visit him once and went to classes with him in tennis shoes and a Superman t-shirt. I wanted to wear one of his ties with the shirt, but he wouldn't let me.

6. All those rules would make my head explode
Then again, when I was in college my hair was past my shoulders, my left ear was double pierced and I never, ever wore any kind of pants but jeans to class.

8. "Countercultures"
From the website: "Hair and clothing styles related to a counterculture (as determined by the Deans' Review Committee) are not acceptable."

I am curious to read what the Dean's Review Committee considers "counterculture".

"Hey you, you wear too much black, you look like a Beatnik, go change your clothes."

Key word "related", so many articles of clothing are in a gray area.
