I Just Got An E-mail from John Kerry about Healthcare for KIDS...
EVERYBODY should have healthcare!

Look at what's happening with Andy... this should never have to be in the so-called "greatest country in the world".

EVERYBODY should have healthcare! EVERYBODY should have healthcare! EVERYBODY should have healthcare! EVERYBODY should have healthcare!

Come on, John!

2. I agree but I will take healthcare for my kids if I can get it
Mr. Arnheim and I need healthcare too but if it comes down to it, I want it for my kids.

My 3 year old son has respiratory problems and we live in one of the worst cities for air quality/pollution. He has a hard time of it. When he gets sick, I just cringe and pray that it doesn't end up with him going back into the hospital again.

Ideally, though ALL Americans need healthcare. 100%, leave no one out, take no prisoners everyone!!

Dammit!!

4. Right, and accepting health insurance for old people got us 40 more
years of a cruel and disgusting system. Now that it's breaking down completely, maybe insuring brats will keep it together for a few more years so the rich can suck profit out of sick people.

To HELL with this and other piecemeal, halfassed approaches to healthcare! Universal coverage NOW! Single payer insurance NOW!

10. Well, I'd love it if my "brats" were covered.
Yes, when my "brats" get sick, I'd like to take them to the doctor. They are 3 and 6 but even that small, those "brats" still get sick. My 3 year old has had a bad cough and fever since last Thursday. Darn "brat." Why is he getting sick and ruining everyone's day??

Yeah, you got to hate giving healthcare to those "brats."

6. I agree with you, and having posted a similiar thread just a bit earlier,
I'm shocked at the reactions I'm getting in DUP.
Something is better than nothing, especially where kids are concerned!

8. I understand the anger especially with Andy's situation
If I had a choice between no healthcare and healthcare for just my kids, then I'd take the healthcare for my kids.

Ideally? I want healthcare for my entire family. My hubby is disabled and does not work. Guess what? Pain medication is not cheap. My medication is not cheap. We skip days and don't take all of the meds that we are supposed to in order to save money. I'm overdue for a Pap and a physical. Hubby is overdue for his yearly exam.

My kids, though, get what they need if it means that we (hubby and I) won't eat.

Supporting healthcare for kids doesn't mean that I don't support healthcare for all. I just know that we have to start somewhere.

3. Everyone SHOULD, but, it's important to pass what you can, when you can.
Kerry's backing the Republicans into a corner with the way this bill is worded.

This bill will pass, and I'm certain there will be some who still complain that it's Kerry's fault that it passed without covering adults, too.

Sorry, but we'll have to work for a Dem president, Senate and House for that to happen.

9. Right. The repubs are in a corner because he's asking for kids
to be covered. If they vote no, then they show themselves to be the heartless bastards that they are. If they vote yes, then at least our kids are covered. No, it probably won't be the best coverage but it will be better than nothing.

If our votes ever count again & we have a Dem pres, Senate and House, then we get the rest of the folks.

5. You would think that Corporations would be for this
Health care costs businesses a lot of money. Since every other industrialized nation has nationalized health care, every business around the world, except for the ones in the United States, do not have to pay for health care for their employees and their families. This is an unlevel playing field for the businesses in the United States.

Why aren't US businesses for a nationalized health care system? Yes, the insurance industry would obviously be against it, but that is just one industry.
