Anyone see those new commericials for "One" the African Relief group
First and foremost, I'm all for this because this continent needs our help.

The commericial has a series of Hollywood celebrities, many of the A-list stars all of them seem to be from the "Hollywood Elite Liberals" including Clooney, Pitt, Hanks, etc.

But what is kinda of freakie is all these liberals doing this great commerical - and they have Pat Robertson as part of this group. I mean, outside of his Conflict Diamond minds in Nigeria (and Robertsons disgust that we would oppose someone like ousted Nigerian President and all around really bad guy Chuck Taylor), why the hell is he a part of this ad?

I don't get it.

BTW - a little snippet I read (Either PageSix or IMDB). Sir Bob Geldoff is in the works to host another LiveAid concert. Here's the link: http://www.nypost.com/gossip/pagesix_u.htm

NOW that Bono and Brad Pitt have turned the spotlight back on Africa's AIDS crisis, Britain's Bob Geldof is trying to ride the wave of publicity by organizing another Live Aid concert series. We hear Sir Bob is trying to coordinate shows in New York, London, Washington, Berlin, Paris and maybe Tokyo. So far, music industry insiders say Geldof has gotten "verbal commitments" from U2, The Who and the Rolling Stones. We're sure Pitt will be available to emcee.

The only thing that makes me sad is Philadelphia, which was one of the original LiveAID hosts, won't be involved this time since the demise of JFK stadium.

6. There's nothing wrong with most Christians.
Most of U2 have strong Christian roots, although they never described themselves as a "Christian Rock" band. They were too good to need the "special" marketing of those talent-free God-rockers. Numerous other fine Christians spring to mind--how about President Carter?

Pat Robertson's involvement with this latest effort is troubling because of his evil operations in the diamond business. He is also a star of the Dominionist theocracy movement. Yes, his group DOES want to take over the world.

What do you think about the Dominionists?

2. That's disturbing
You have to wonder why they thought they needed to include Robertson. If they wanted someone to represent people of faith there are many fine clergy on the left.

4. I think Bono is willing to use anyone
to get the point across. He's been willing to talk to anyone, regardless of their odious views, if he thinks they can help the cause.

8. I guess they didn't want support just from the left.
Or maybe they wanted to show that a fairly wide spectrum of people support their message.

Not everybody on the right is automatically evil, just as not everybody on the left is automatically virtuous.

9. Of course not everybody on the right is evil
I dislike the terms good and evil anyway.

However, Pat Robertson is undeniably a opportunistic con-man selling snake oil moral superiority to his followers as well as advancing the memes of the neotheocons. His association with any organization immediately taints it in my opinion, no matter how noble their stated objectives.
