The point the pugs make that keeps pissing me off is
That they want to do right by the American people with SS retirement accounts. They want to afford us the same opportunities as members of Congress of what to do with their money.
Now, to start with, it makes me very nervous when people keep attempting to do "something good for me", despite my clear conscience that this is so wrong. By the polling numbers, I am not alone in this. Why not move along? Why keep attempting to sell me something that is good for me?
Secondly, if this evil cabal of wickedness REALLY wanted to do something for ME, they would allow me to buy into the health plan that Congress uses.
The SS problem won't start affecting anyone for the next 40-50 years--plenty of time to fix it.
We are having a healthcare crisis NOW.
So Congress, if you want to do your job--and do something for ME, send a message to * that the majority of Americans do NOT care about SS at this point in time, but the majority of Americans ARE concerned about accessible healthcare.
Let's deal with priorities shall we?

1. it's hopeless as long as George is driving
He sees the all incoming money as his personal allowance, he has now
thrown 31 million by way of HHS to the fundies as a sop over the
Terri Schiavo case, he can just take the pension surplus as it comes in and spend it where he wishes, did Congress approve the 500 million
for building bases in Iraq???? He sees us as income providers not
recipients.

2. If we took the money we were going to spend
on the transition to private accounts and used it to shore up social security, we'd have SS solvent for a thousand years. If we took the money we were spending on Iraq and put it to SS, it would be solvent for a very long time. We take money out of it and think nothing of it. We can't put money in? That's not even an option? I just don't understand.

4. George is dedicated to a US Oil Empire
What we need is someone in the WH who will carry out the dictates of the Constitution, the will of the U.S. people, and be able to constantly assess what the needs of this country are. Read up about FDR, he used to read newspapers all over the country, to see what
the average wage earner could afford, He was worried that the average wage earner could afford bananas or not, while George is
laughing over a woman holding 3 jobs. What a difference.

5. The Congress argument is the most nonsensical thing ever
Of course Congress wants these accounts--they're wealthy! They can afford money managers, and I'm sure they'd still be able to retire comfortably even if the stock market took a bite out of their savings.

Seriously. Give us the healthcare first.
