Christians Take Over Air America!
Well, that's how some DUers might see it. I for one was happy to hear Air America out of San Diego this a.m. host the pastor of a progressive Christian church. Sounds like someone on the Left has figured out that reaching out to Christians doesn't mean that you automatically sign on for gay bashing and snake handling. Kind of refreshing after the week of Leftwing hysteria over the naming of the new pope.

4. Oooh, yuck! annabanana
:hi:

This is good news. Not religious in anyway, myself, but the right has "owned" it for too long.

3. Local AAR affiliates can do whatever they want i guess.
Edited on Fri Apr-22-05 09:57 AM by BlueEyedSon
The show you are referring to is not part of "real" AAR programming.

Go to http://www.airamericaradio.com/ and pull down the "shows" menu.

For example, on XM satellite radio, the AAR channel plays the blowhard Ed Shultz and the weakling Alan Colmes (both of which are NOT AAR). They also broadcast a PARTIAL Randi show.

In other words, Christians haven't really "taken over" anything, except in San Diego.....

6. There're Christians and there're KKKristians.
 Anyone can paint a label on themselves ...
but when it smells like shit, looks like shit, and feels like shit, I don't need to taste it. YMMV :silly:

7. 'You'll know them by their works.'
But oft times by the time you have seen their works, it is too late. The Christian Left has got to start calling out these right-wing, faux Christians (I like the term "Christianist"). If the left continues to say, in essence, that "good Christians" can disagree on left/right issues, then they are enabling these frauds to continue their abuse.

18. A name is important for the calling!
Those referred to as XTIANS are just X minus christ tians! They can't really say that they believe in a supreme being other than themselves! It is always who is god and what he or his son, or their appointed cabinet, has said over 2000 years ago that they know is correct for todays world. They fully intend to "forcefully" recreate their "utopian" (that's XPIAN) regime on the world!

8. While Am Not Religious almost to the point of hostility
The liberal coalition must include sensible Christians.

Meaning the ones that realize:

- homosexuality is a natural human variance not unlike blue eyes, or double jointedness

- A strict seperation of church and state must be strengthened and protected for the continued sucess of both institutions

- reproductive choice and freedom from the governmental intervention in your medical care are fundamental rights

These are the ones we can work with not only to regain control of the government but also to reform the more dangerous people of faith

10. From a sojourners email.
Ratzinger on the war.

Ratzinger on war

"There were not sufficient reasons to unleash a war against Iraq. To say nothing of the fact that, given the new weapons that make possible destructions that go beyond the combatant groups, today we should be asking ourselves if it is still licit to admit the very existence of a 'just war.'"

- Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, May 2, 2003.

16. Yeah, I'm happy about that, too. There are
plenty of more liberal Christians than Tim LeHaye, Jerry Falwell, James Dobson and Pat Robertson. I've seen plenty of liberal churches recently.

The hard right is mocking the christian religeon for their own poolitical purposes and the christians that don't agree with whats going on really don't get any air time.
