I need a new office chair
So, I want to get something big and comfy and with great lumbar support and I want it to tilt and roll around and go up and down and maybe do my taxes next year ...........

No, wait. Forget that last part.

Normally, I'd just go to Staples and buy one, but I seem to recall something here about Staples being big Ratface contributors and Office Depot being rather "blue." Is that right?

Of course, there's always Costco, which, I noticed last time we were there, has some yummy leather judge's chairs, which is what I have now, and which I'll probably get again.

Costco's "blue," right?

I'm planning on spending between three and four hundred bucks on this, and I'd hate to spend even a cent in a place that donates to thugs.

4. Oh, you DOLL!!!
Thank you! This is exactly what I need for everything.

First thing, in your honor, I'm gonna donate to buyblue.org.

Thanks a million.

I see already that Staples sucks....................

3. I have a Herman Miller Aeron chair
I know, I know -- these things became the very symbol of "tech bubble" excess, but they really are among the finest chairs ever made.

I spent a LOT of hours in my chair (I'm a writer), and so ergonomics and comfort are critical.

Expensive as all get-out, but it was worth the money. Plus, four years later, it still looks brand new.

Also I sit on a 65 cm fitness ball to break up the monotony.

8. I tried one,
and I didn't like it, but that was a long time ago.

I'm a novelist now, so that means I spend a lot more time in a chair, and I find the big soft padded ones are best for me. But, finding the right combination of lumbar support and other things has - so far- eluded me.

I'll give the Miller Aeron another spin, and thanks for the help.

5. For a few dollars more
Okay, twice as much, get the Master of All Chairs, the Emperor of all Seating, the Rolls Royce of Butt Comfort: The Herman Miller Aeron.

It's the last office chair you'll ever buy.

7. I have one
It is the best chair, even better than the swanky, overstuffed leather ones.

9. I think Costco is a blue company
I deleted my "buyblue" link but I'm sure you can find it under GOOGLE. I think the best way to go, if you can find one, is to buy a used one from a fancy thrift store. I read that if you go to thrift store like the American Cancer Society or a Woman's shelter you can get very good items. Of course you could also check your local paper classifieds and then check out the people. If they have a big portrait of DUBYA on the wall - run.

My town has a "freecycle" site on msn forums. I am beginning to not want to buy ANYTHING anymore.

Of course I am sitting here in my vibrating chair bought from Office Depot a couple years ago.......before I knew better!
