Chafee announces his support for Bolton just before the Committee meeting that may have just killed the nomination (if there is more dirt coming out).

Gonna play well come election time....

Perhaps it is time for politicians to EARN their jobs.

8. Voinovich is a slime ball....he's using this to do arm-twisting of his own

Don't mistake him for someone with a conscience....he isn't. He just threw this monkey wrench into the committee hearings to get his fellow repukes and dems in the senate to grovel at his feet (for his vote), and to use it to further his own agenda.

Don't get me wrong! I'm GLAD AS HELL he did it! Because...did you see John Kerry salivating over the prospects of putting together a case against Bolton for PERJURY before the committee? Bolton lied his butt off, and Kerry can't wait to nail him on it.

Also, I LOVED the way Barak Obama was so "innocent", and just laid out a smoothe speech that showed Lugar that there was nowhere to go. Obama posed it as an innocent question, but the answer was implicit, no way around it. The rules were being BENT, things were purposely being rushed ahead so that no more nasty stuff could come out about Bolton, plain and simple, and Lugar was nailed on it.

Lugar is getting a bit long of tooth for sharp procedural stuff and evidently he was outflanked today.

If John Kerry can find evidence of perjury on Bolton's part, then the party's at my house and free cold beer will flow.

I harbor no illusions about Voinovich but I agree with you -- today we'll take that vote.

10. As a native Vermonter

who is UNABASHEDLY proud of Sen. Jeffords for standing up for what he knew to be right, I think chafee should be ashamed.
He let his people down because he was worried about his job.

Ask Vermonters how they feel about Mr. Jeffords, chafee, IMO you're not fit to be in the same room with him.
