John Rothman on KGO
I've never caught his program before but am listening to his program from today's wee hours via the KGO Archives. He discussed the fillibuster issue and is very knowledgable about political history. Here's his bio page with the times for his broadcasts if anyone is interested. http://www.kgoam810.com/complexshowdj.asp?DJID=3553 KGO Archives hold onto programs for 24 hours.

Btw, KGO's Archives have had problems. I sent them an email Thursday night and got a very nice email back yesterday mornng. They're going to get some new equipment installed to resolve problems and apoligized for the inconvenience. I was so pleased to hear back with that info. I can't do without listening to Ray Talafierro and hearing him call W "that little turd in the White House". :D

1. John Rothman
There were times I disagreed with John Rothman, but either he is changing or I am changing but we are agreeing more and more each weekend. He is very intelligent, open minded and sincere. He doesn't rant, he always seems to have back up, and his guests are always interesting. He is on Sat. and Sun. mornings.

The one thing I do like about John Rothman, he listens to callers without getting upset. He is just very mellow, but he is a Dem.

2. He's also on Thursday evenings, too
I'm new to Rothman. I hope this morning's program is a reflection of his current positions all around. I like his his passion and honesty.

4. Exactly!
I am in complete agreement with you! Rothman is the best informed talk show host that I have ever listened to, bar none. His unfailing courtesty to callers is such a rarity and I really appreciate this. He also has a sense of humor and a vast repetoire of interests. In my opinion, he is the jewel in KGO's crown.

As for Ray, well, I love Ray, but his mean streak towards callers just turns me off. Frequently I have to shut the radio off. Like last week when he called a military man who was a Republican "a little faggot." It's a shame because Ray has passion and strong values, but his manner of taunting and attacking callers is just repulsive to me.

Since Air America came to town I only listen to KGO at night for Bernie, Ray and Rothman. When that vile gasbag Wattenberg is on, I switch over to Air America.

5. I dislike Wattenberg
he is one conceited puke.

If you are living is Phoenix, do you ever listen to Erskine Overnight on Saturday? He has some really interesting guests. I'm trying to figure out if he is a Dem or a Libertarian but I do enjoy listening to him. I can't remember the call letters, it's right before the Disney radio station on AM. I think he comes on at 10:00pm. Al Martin is one of his frequent guests. If you want more info just type in Erskine Overnight on your search page. He is different. His wife and I have something in common although I do not know her, but maybe I do without knowing it.

7. No, I'm not within range
I'm in the SF Bay Area and don't think I get any Phoenix stations, although late at night it might be possible. The KGO signal is very strong, however, and can be heard across the west at night. I wish the AirAmerica signal were stronger in the Bay Area, however. It sputters and chokes on static if I happen to be driving by any utility lines or into certain neighborhoods.

6. Rothmann is great
His skills as a host are unparalleled.

He used to work for Nixon!

I listen to either Rothmann, Bernie Ward, or Ray Taliaferro every night, sometimes Karel too.

And I'm in Portland, 600 miles north of San Francisco. KGO booms in here after sundown.

And Bill Wattenburg is one cold turd.
