The story kind of disappeared when that other religion guy actually did die.

2.  I regret to inform you that Rev. Falwell is still with us.
He's probably been booked on NIGHTLINE and LARRY KING, even from the hospital bed. He might even be home by now.

Why is Jerry Falwell allowed to live and Janis Joplin dead?

That hardly seems fair.

4. He hasn't left the building, then. Oh, well...
Why good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people can be explained by the idea that life itself is a series of random events, even though the natural laws these events take place in are orderly and fairly predictable. There isn't any natural justice to the universe except that which we are willing to impose on it.

7. When does the karma thing kick in? I like to think that --
-- somewhere in an attic in California, Tinky Winky is doing a voodoo doll thing on Rev. Falwell.

He doesn't want to knock him off all in one swoop. Better to make him suffer consecutive attacks and hospitalizations.

Unhappily for Rev. Falwell, cartoon characters have a vengeful streak.

8. Maybe I'm not giving the man enough credit, but --
-- it seems to me he will not be much more than a footnote to American history, Falwell.

I think THE SIMPSONS will have a bigger entry in the history books.

(And rightly so!)
