Dean/Clark Supporters - need your opinions!
My neo-conservative boss claims that Clark would NEVER, EVER, NOT EVER run as VP for Dean, or run with Dean EVER because he can't stand Dean. He asked me, "Do you even KNOW who GENERAL Clark is?" Of course, I answered "well, DUHHHHHHH."

After my usual, "oh what do you know about Democrats anyway!!!" he claims to have an "inside" in the Democratic party that says NO WAY would Clark run with Dean. (claims his source is inside the Granholm admin here in Michigan).

Now, a Dean/Clark combo to me would be unbeatable, but I need some opinions, especially from Clark fans, whether or not Clark has ever actually expressed this kind of opinion, or whether you have any info.

Lay it on me, faithful fellows!

2. Your boss doesn't know what he is talking about

3. That's funny...
I remember reading not too long ago (before the Clark-as-Dean's-VP rumor caught fire) that Dean and Clark were friendly, calling each other every once in a while.

13. Both sides have admitted to several conversations,
which by all accounts have been described as friendly.

Dean/Clark sounds like your boss's worst nightmare which is why he was so eager to believe an unsubstaniated, unreliable source. Neo-cons are good at believing those.

We would have a better chance with a Clark/Dean ticket people vote for president, vp being an afterthought. A Clark candidacy would cause hella-problems for the bfee.

Dean is attackable,Clark is not.

14. Clark is VERY attackable
as are all Dems.

That's because the right wing can make up absolutely ANYTHING they want, and get it reported.

Believe it.

(Not to say that Clark/Dean wouldn't be a valid ticket.)

His team is very good at it. Does Clark? I guess we'll soon find out.

7. I have been watching these two since March
I think they are kind to one another. As for the VP, I don't think Clark is running for VP. If he wanted to be VP, he would not run. He would go on a book tour and write op-ed pieces. Think about it, if he runs a bad campaign, he is gone. Also, if he runs a good campaign, it means he will be fighting Dean (in this scenario) and chances are bad blood will come along.

When was the last time someone else who ran became the VP pick? 1980.

That stated, I think Dean and Clark will still talk after this is all over.

8. your friend is clueless
Clark likes Dean and Dean likes Clark. But it might not stay that way, if only because it looks like Clark is going to let Fabiani call the shots, like he did today in killing the limelight around an Edwards announcement:

“HE’S MADE HIS decision and will announce it tomorrow in Little Rock,” said Mark Fabiani, a spokesman for Clark. The announcement will be made at 1 p.m. ET Wednesday in Arkansas, sources said.

That Lehane is right next to Fabiani scares me, I hope they don't poison the well-- which is exactly what they wanted to do with Kerry against Dean.

Anyway, I think Joe "who the hell is Lehane" Trippi will best them.

remember we're democrats. Not towing the Clark line yet. Let him win and then I'll support - not until then.

18. I see people who understand how to balance a ticket.
I personally have no problems with Dean's ideas on foreign policy. There are, however, people in the general election that may be reluctant to vote for Dean based on his lack of military service (which is sometimes seen as a lack of peacekeeping ability). Clark would definitely go a long way toward balancing the ticket in that way. Clark is also an Arkansan which would appeal to some midwestern and southern voters.

Clark seems to have good support in a Presidential run at this time. IF he decides not to run, I think he might be an interesting choice as Dean's VP.
