Poll question: Funniest moment of the Bush Era
More like a laugh-to-keep-from-crying thing (though someone once said that comedy=tragedy+time)

1. You forgot 'freeance peeance'
I thought I'd wet myself. See http://www.dubyaspeak.com/grammarian2003.shtml and look for freeance on the page.

LOL!

14. I love "peeance, freeance"
The video is priceless.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/10/20031027-1.html#

The video is still on the White House's page (although the transcript is, of course, cleaned up).

When Bush says "peeance, freeance", Paul Bremer's head swivels toward him like, "What did he just say?"

It's worth it to watch this viedo all the way through. Bush is clearly depending on an earpiece, and it's hilarious. He thinks he's doing so great (They luv ta KILL -- Cuz they hate freedom...), and then the "peeance, freeance" thing comes out. LOL!

Especially the long blank stares into the camera, "I knew that!", and "you forgot Poland!".

3. You got my vote.
And let's not forget the creepy flecks of foam in the corner of his mouth. Or the WH assertion that the bulge under his jacket was a poorly tailored shirt. All hilarious stuff. Or would be, if the outcome hadn't been so disastrous.

10. Nukular
Once, OK. Twice is bad. Three times makes me want to crawl under my couch.

He's probably said it a thousand times, and has never, ever, ever, ever, not one time, even by accident, pronounced it properly.

23. There is nothing funny
about what this band of crooks is doing to our country. They are stealing our money, our health, and our future. They are destroying our society. They are pitting us against each other, all for a few dollars. These people are Nazis, and their legacy is just as tragic.

math of 9-11. It's the funniest moment IMHO for the joke is on us.

28. "And there's no doubt in my mind ... that we will fail"
Dubya trying to cheerlead the war, in late 2001. And he was right!

http://www.dubyaspeak.com/war2001.shtml

"And we'll be tough and resolute as we unite, to make sure freedom stands, to rout out evil, to say to our children and grandchildren, we were bold enough to act, without tiring, so that you can live in a great land and in a peaceful world. And there's no doubt in my mind, not one doubt in my mind, that we will fail.
-- Labor Department, Oct. 4, 2001"

I have to say -- if people had told me in the 1990s that an American president would strut around on an aircraft carrier in a military uniform, and that the press and his admirers (one and the same!) would be exclaiming over his "goodies" -- I would have said that they were completely nuts (pardon the choice of words there).

Let's see, the "trifecta" remarks about social security...

The Carla Faye Tucker remarks about mercy....

The "have's and have more's" who are his base....

And, especially, how he never stops thinking about how to harm us, just like the terrorists.

The sad thing is, it is no joke.
