4. Gimme a break.
First, doofus, there are 6.4 billion people on the earth, not 5 billion.

Second, I'm not surprised you jerks would consider thoughtful analysis "inappropriate" but Bush calling the funeral the "highlight" of his presidency is just swell.

Piss off, shit for brains!

5. Major Divide
with American Catholics, not just on death penalty, but even bigger with birth control and divorce. Those bishops who were blasting Kerry over abortion? Well, hidden message was for American Catholics too, since the teaching is that the Pill and IUD is abortion too.

Fade into the sunset Lazio. Your time is OVER. That from a Long Islander.

23. Thank you, thank you, thank you...
I know who John Gibson is solely because of the OJ trial. I have not heard him say anything of value since. Wait a minute - he said nothing of value then, either. Silly me.

9. Don't know about that.
Do know that the picture I saw of the viewing showed Clinton with his head bowed, also Condi. Sr. was staring at the Pope's body with a quizzical look. Jr. and Laura had their heads up and were looking bored. I didn't consider that very respectful of Jr. and Laura.

11. I'd just like Fox News to tell us what Clinton could say that
they wouldn't find fault with? That was about as innocuous as it gets -- just about anyone in a position of leadership is going to have SOME critics, especially in our ultra-polarized world.

Sheesh.

12. MICHNEWS editorial also goes off the hook
This right wing MICHNEWS editorial is a real far right Catholic who blew more than one fuse when Clinton just showed (with Bush et al) to pray in front of the Pope (we know from pics posted here Clinton was the only one in serious prayer and not checking his watch).

14. They are furious Bill did a 'walkabout' while Bush could not (too hot
to walk around in that kevlar vest). There is Clinton... a man of the people. Admired around the world. Two weeks from the operating table. Walking and touching hands with all. Because his presence is not a danger to himself (where as Bush on the ground would initiate so much hatred ..particularly among Italians... that a riot could easily start).

Good for Bill. And good for Bill for not letting the hypocrisy of the image of a saintlike pope go unmentioned. Millions die because of Catholic ignorance of birth control & safe sex laws. Millions.

Bill did good. All the reporters mention this stuff - in passing - the mixed legacy - so why not Bill.

16. What's bad about a mixed legacy? Hell, who *doesn't* have a mixed legacy?
Is there anyone in the world who is universally adored or universally hated without exception? Even such extremists as Hitler and Stalin have their apologists and fans.

I don't get it. Of course, I'm biased, and I admit it. But I don't get it.

17. They have to splash some mud on Clinton whenever their boy takes a
hit. A fella has to be absolutely despised to garner a big round of boos at a religious event. Not too much booing going on in churches. Think of how despised their boy is. Mind boggling.

19. It's called being totally obsessed with the last elected President
and digging for ANY little thing they can nit pick and moan and wail and nash their teeth over. Nothing more. I can't believe that they actually wasted air time to discuss this. Just makes it that much more obvious that they are desperate and biased.

Personally, I didn't even raise an eyebrow over what he said. I think President Clinton (damn it feels good to say that), was spot on. Who doesn't have a mixed legacy? Did that darn pedophilia ring just disappear? Some might say having such a huge ring of pedophiles in your organization under your leadership might give you a mixed legacy. I'm just saying...
