So now we know why bushco installed wolfie
as the head of the world bank. The world bank just warned the U.S. to cut the deficit. We know the war effort won't be cut, I mean we have to stop terra don't we, so that leaves our social programs.
I don't know about anyone else but I'm getting pissed, real fucking pissed.

1. That's not very surprising
Although to be fair, the World Bank is right. We do need to cut our deficit. And the correct way to do that is to increase revenue by repealling some of the Bush Tax Giveaways.

3. There are deeper issues here
The world bank has a history of lending money to developing nations in return for privatization of oil, water and other resources and other services. I would expect this to continue at a larger pace with Wolfowitz at the helm.

6. They may have installed Wolfie to get them to shut up about
US deficits. This might even have been some rogue World Banker "welcoming" Wolfie aboard.

"Because that person doesn't need the goddamn government for anything."

Few in American politics are as blunt about their plans. "If the American people really want to know what George W. Bush is up to, the best place to look is the candor of Grover Norquist," says Ralph G. Neas, president of People for the American Way. Norquist is not above equating tax collection with a street mugging, or suggesting that arguments for higher taxes on rich people echo the ones Nazis used to justify their targeting of Jews. "Bipartisanship is another name for date rape," he told a reporter in May, borrowing a phrase from former House Majority Leader Dick Armey. He likes to say he wants to shrink the size of government in half over the next 25 years "to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub."
