California Recall Question...
If the recall is successful, and a Repug (or any person from any party, really) wins the Governorship, would it be possible to wage another recall campaign, and have Grey Davis on the ballot of possible replacements?

I know he cant run now, but if he is removed, can he ever run again?

1. He absolutely could be on that ballot
The only person excluded by CA law from seeking the office in a recall is the person who is facing recall.

Here's another scenario, if Bustamante wins, he selects his successor as Lt. Gov.

Bustamante could appoint Davis as Lt. Gov., and resign once Davis is sworn in. Davis could then appoint Bustamante as Lt. Gov. and CA is right back where it was before the recall less millions of dollars for the cost.

2. If it weren't his second term already he would be eligible
but since we have 2 term limit Governorship in California
I don't think Davis would be allowed to run again .

3. Sure
THere are people planning on launching a Recall if a Repug wins. Don't see why davis couln't be on the lower part of the ballot, but I don't know for sure. THis is pretty much unchartered territory.

I hope the Recall fails. However if it does pass I hope the winner is Bustamante. That will completely freak out the Repugs. Bustamante is a liberal. Davis is a moderate. Bustamante will make those f*ckers regret the day they launched this recall.

4. I think that's what many of us out here are hoping.
If the recall DOES go through, it sets a VERY bad precedent throughout the country for overturning the will of the people in a previous election.

It just sucks.

And THEY'RE the ones who were hollering "Sore Loserman!"

5. $$$$$ -- It won't happen 'cause dems are spending money on fighting recall
If the Dems don't win this vote, don't count on there being a second bite at the apple before the next general election.

Don't think we won't use it.

Too bad the recall shows that it's lost momentum as the truth gets out there ( minus 8+ points in six weeks)

No on recall is currently TIED with yes, and we have the momentum; plus we haven't even started our blitz.

So scary though it may be, the best the repugs can hope for is Yes passing and a new Dem governor.
