Why can't we do more commercials like this one?

I just saw a commercial on CNN Live that I loved, although at first I thought I was going to hate it.

It started out showing a news conference from a couple years ago between the Oneida Indian Nation of central NY and Gov Pataki and Sen Meir. At first, it was all peachy, showing Pataki and Meir verbally talking about this great deal NYS was making with the Oneida people and everyone smiling in affirmation. I'm sitting there watching this saying to myself, WTF?, is this some Repuke commercial that's out to get Pataki elected president already?

Then, all of a sudden the commercial shoots forward in time, and says in big letters (and I'm paraphrasing here), "18 months later George Pataki broke his word with the Oneida Nation...".

It was awesome. Now why the hell can't the Democratic Party come up with something like that?
