1. Did Abrams claim technical difficulty to get him off the air?
Edited on Thu Mar-24-05 06:31 PM by cynatnite
That's what it looked like. Abrams was fed up with the hateful rhetoric.

I think the fact that randal is bat shit crazy
got him pulled off the air. He said something like the "the final rule of the law does not end with the courts." Abrams didn't know how to respond

39. Randall Terry IS a terrorist
by the definition in the Patriot Act. He has called for and has had abortion clinics bombed. He has called for the killing of doctors who perform abortions, and it has been done. The freaks who listen and blindly follow him do the things he calls for!

Alot of her supporters are people just looking for an excuse to run amok with guns, and the politicians and parasites have turned the Schiavo case into EXACTLY the excuse they want.

I will be very surprised if we get through this without rioting and bloodshed.

Why are they trying to "play" God. I wondered where Randall Terry was in all this.

Guess not if you're a right-winger.

And I know that Randall Terry is a fundie wack-job.

Me? I prefer to keep my spirituality positive, and not dwell on fear and threats to get my point across.

And I may be one of the few who really doesn't care about this whole situation. Let the family and the state courts hash it out. And let this be a lesson that if a person prefers not to be kept on life support, to have a living will hashed out. It would avoid nasty situations like this one.

16. I think this may be the straw...
My concern is martial law, this may be a reason. Then again, this may be the thing that wakes up the masses. You have two factions here and I do not mean ideas and/or organizations; I mean you have the law and its representatives and you have the leader of the state and his representatives and all of these parties have guns. The judge says abide by law, sheriff's office. The Governor says ignore the law - state troops. What and how is this going to play out? That is what I am concerned about.

27. Can anyone tell my why this Catholic family approved of Randall Terry
to be their family spokesperson?

Randall Terry is a despeicable man who left his disabled wife to carry on an illicit affair with a younger and prettier, healthier woman. He left his children and his wife, who has multiple sclerosis, and abandoned them in order to satisfy his lust or his ego. He abandoned a wife in need, in direct disobedience to his marital vows. He was thrown out of his own church for doing so,

Why on earth would the Schindlers adopt him as their "spokesperson"?

28. interesting how this turned out, isn't it?
MSNBC/NBC's much trumpeted "Faith in America" week sure has been a zinger, hasn't it? Have you ever seen so much unintentional humor packed into one fun-filled week?

"Faith in America" has featured insane religious fanatics taping their mouths, having their children arrested, approaching a police line with pitiful cups of water, and spouting some of the most idiotic nonsense since "I'm not a crook". Oh, and bald-face lying, which certainly doesn't appear to be very Christian.

Thank you, MSNBC and NBC, for covering this week-long peek under the tent revival. I'm sure it's scaring the shit out of the majority of Americans.

Now they are the governor of Florida, the president of the United States, the head of the Senate and the head of the House of Representatives.

44. Video Link?
I didn't see this (hope there's a replay), but this sounds like something we need to plaster all over the place...email, websites, soundbites on talk shows..."Howard Dean" this freak and keep hammering.

The outrageousness of the fundie nuts were amusing when they were a sideshow in the corporate media. Now that they're supplying the news and dictating the coverage, it's time to take both them and the corporate media to task for their shameless actions.

Hopefully this might scare a sheeple or two...and put a bad taste in the mouths of moderate Repugnicans and Independents.

46. Some Randall Terry quotes ... just for fun
Edited on Thu Mar-24-05 07:38 PM by Az
Collected at www.positiveatheism.org

I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good.... Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a Biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism.
-- Randall Terry, quoted in The News-Sentinel, Fort Wayne, Indiana, August 16, 1993

When I, or people like me, are running the country, you'd better flee, because we will find you, we will try you, and we'll execute you. I mean every word of it. I will make it part of my mission to see to it that they are tried and executed.
-- Randall Terry, referring to doctors who perform abortions, quoted from TheWarOnFaith.com

What it is coming down to is who runs the country. It's us against them. It's the good guys versus the bad guys. It's the God-fearing people against the pagans, and some of the pagans are going to church.
-- Randall Terry, confusing the religion of paganism with the use of the word pagan as slang for atheist or unchurched, as religious Pagans would not go to church, but atheists are often forced to attend Christian worship services because the sheer bigotry against us at the hands of the Christian majority almost guarantees social failure lest we pretend to be Christian, in a speech (1992)

You better believe that I want to build a Christian nation, because the only option is a pagan nation. Not that the government can make someone a Christian by decree. A Christian nation would be defined as "We acknowledge God in our body politic, in our communities, that the God of the Bible is our God, and, we acknowledge that His law is supreme."
-- Randall Terry, quoted from TheWarOnFaith.com ††

There is going to be war, take up the sword to overthrow the tyrannical regime that oppresses them.
-- Randall Terry, describing his plan at the 1995 National Operation Rescue meeting in Louisiana, quoted from Refuse & Resist!, "Who's Coming To Dayton -- An Introduction"
