Since when? Caller asserts DNR directives are against Catholic
faith.

What?

I can understand the belief against suicide. But I didn't think that the Church viewed dnrs or living wills as suicide - and thus someone (eg family member/spouse) determining to "pull the plug" - is violating the dying person's religious rights in doing so.

Don't often have mornings to listen to Cspan- but am finding it very informative (per caller's comments)

3. Even if they are......
...Then just like abortion or divorce, there are no laws MAKING you have a DNR. If you are catholic and don't want a DNR, then don't put one in place. It's that simple.

5. The Catholic Church
They surely do bring out the dumb masses to comment in the marketplace. Lately it is hard to tell the difference between many of them and the worst of the conservative fundamentalists.

6. I'm surprised at the Pope.
Not to denigrate a sick, elderly person, but doesn't he sound a little extreme lately? How many of you think he's still making decisions himself?

7. I don't know that the Pope
has gone as far out as the caller suggested. But I didn't read the press release from Rome on the Schaivo case that closely. Whatever he said was clearly enough for the rabid right to lifers to take it to the extreme (argumentation wise.)
