FCC: Sheridan 'MNF' intro not indecent
"WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal regulators ruled Monday there was nothing indecent about a steamy introductory segment to ABC's "Monday Night Football" featuring actress Nicollette Sheridan jumping into the arms of football player Terrell Owens."

"The segment that aired last November showed Sheridan in a locker room wearing only a towel and provocatively asking the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver to skip the game for her. She then dropped the towel and leaped into Owens' arms."

"Only the upper back of the "Desperate Housewives" star was exposed and no foul language was used -- in fact, the scene was no racier than what's routinely seen on soap operas. But ABC said it received complaints from viewers who thought it was inappropriate."

4. Would it have ever been ruled "not indecent"
If it was Jack from "Will and Grace" dropping his towel?

5. I doubt it.
So much racism is just seething and bubbling under the surface here in America. The worst racists are the ones you would never suspect: the bankers, lawyers, school administrators, elected officials, etc. At least with the KKK and white supremecists you know where they stand.

3. I think it was the racial difference that bothered them
You know -- a black man and a white woman in a romantic relationship?

They don't allow that at Bob Jones University...(though they may have changed that rule once the media started talking about it).

That's the only reason I can imagine that fundies were bothered by it -- it really wasn't that racy....

6. Calling Brent Boezell
This is another one of this goon's follies. Uproar. Yeah, right. It wsa he and his fax machine and dittohead amazons who do the complaining, mostly everyone else votes about this stuff with their channel changers.

Again, the FCC puffs up it balls, but backs down when their real masters...the major broadcast corporations...say so. The Repugnicans got some mileage out of this one...diverting hate radio for a day or two from discussing an immoral war or the destruction of the economy with this mindless crap...and now they'll go into fake indignation as to how the FCC caved in. A non-story that keeps giving.

Sheesh, they make a big deal about some sophmoric stunt, yet right after that I'll bet there was a commercial for Viagra or Cealis, reminding us if our erections last more than 4 hours, see a doctor...the kids just love hearing that warning over and over.

7. Bozell, Sir
Has let the cat out of the bag with this one; there is no room for doubt that he and his corps of letter writers are merely racist segregationists of the old lynch mob school....

9. I didn't know until "researching" this incident
that Nicolette Sheridan is quite the porn star. So there ARE indecent scenes of her out there. This just wasn't one of them.

How exactly does one make the transition from big-time porn star to being a leading character in a mainstream, primetime TV series? Interesting times we live in.
