How Many Foreigners Have Died In US Uniform?

I read, a long time ago, that the US body count does NOT reflect the number of foreigners who have joined the military in exchange for US citizenship after their term. Does anyone have info on this?

1. I believe what you read was incorrect.

Now, other nationalities have died in Iraq (obviously Iraqi civilians have), but they were fighting for their own nation's forces.

2. no..no real information, but

it has been my understanding that these soldiers were counted as part of official death count...but i am not sure. There are lots of non us citizen soldiers now...and many are Mexicans who have been recruited with the promise of quick citizenship...it is something that much angers the Mexicans that i know where i live.

but I DID see that there are something between twenty-five and forty thousand non-citizens in the US military.

5. To enlist in the U.S. armed forces,

an alien must have some sort of employment authorization or must be froma U.S. territory. In other words, you cannot be an illegal alien and enlist (unless you use fake documents and you don't get caught).

I know this from experience, when I was so desperate with my own immigration situation that I was a nanosecond away from taking the oath for the U.S. Army, but it was realized (at the very last moment) that I did not have an employment authorization document (I had an OPT for employment authorized to F-1 students) and so I was not allowed to take the oath and leave for basic, despite having incredibly high scores on the ASVBAT especially in languages.

My then-attorney did a lot of legal research on the matter, as did a JAG, and so I learned a lot about it.
