Hello America, From The Nurses Who Are Fouling Up Governor Arnold's Scheming

Dear Netizens,

We're starting this diary to keep everyone up-to-date about Governor Arnold and his quixotic quest to take down California's nurses.

A quick re-cap on how we got here. Arnold took huge amount of money from healthcare corporations, and, coincidentally, does their bidding, including attempting to strike down a cutting-edge California law that guarantees a safe number of nurses per patient. Then he called nurses a 'special interest' and bragged that he was 'kicking their butts.' Big mistake. Nurses got riled up, have emerged as his leading opponents in the state on a variety of issues, and many observers credit our campaign with his recent ten-point slide in the polls.

We'll keep you updated here and please send us any suggestions, thoughts, or encouragement. For today, I'm pasting our press release which details what appears to be a kickback from the Governor to the hospitals. It's a little wonky, but hey sue me; or don't. my mother and sister were/are nurses. These women are mean and DO NOT take prisoners (said with all love and affection for my mum and sister and their fellow nurses <please don't hurt me>). If the California nurses are anything like the nurses I have met in my life (up here in Canada), I can only hope that Arnold has his privates suitably covered.

My word of advice (not that he asked) to the governor? Do not rile these people up. They will take you down. And it WILL hurt.

7. California nurses deserve a big health care Oscar for being the

health care providers who often figure out what is going on with the patient when the doctor is busy elsewhere. I am forever in debt to the nurses who looked after my husband and who were willing to listen when the Dr. was too busy, and who made the Dr. pay attention.

10. As a CA nurse I must say that Ahnold increasing the patient to nurse ratio

is taking a toll on patients. We have less time to care for more patients and Ahnold, who personally doesnt give a shit about patients, has the nerve to call us a "special interest group"!

Arianna Huffington, too! For someone who had to move in on Gray Davis so urgently you might at least expect him to have manners toward the ladies! Maybie its those blazing 'hot' Hollywood lights!
