2. solution
Democrats who don't vote for socially and economically progressive laws and policies are not Democrats, they're just ... rats.

Solution in two parts: 1) people need to get active and vote those suckers out of office and replace them with better officials; and 2) Howard Dean needs to do and say something to these potential rats, refusing to support them financially and otherwise.

3. I'm not from Maryland
but I've been following her actions for quite a while. She's a frequent and honored guest at my union's technical training school in the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She's true friend of labor, and her voting record in other areas dear to us DUers, is also very good.

The question of "Where WAS she?" is always valid, but the assumption that she must be hiding somewhere, is unwarranted.

18. I myself wasn't assuming she was hiding. Just want to know
what keeps Senators from being there when Roll Call comes.

She could well have known that the necessary 60 votes to approve an amendment would not be forthcoming, and had something else to handle that was going to be productive. As I said, I like her.

Just wondering if anyone knew.

And hoping she WILL be there to vote AGAINST the bankruptcy bill, which reduces delinquent child support to the status of credit card companies interest and fees....this will cost the states money.

14. Maine Dem---who do we have to run against her in '06???
Damned if I can come up with a name. About the only one who could do it it Baldacci but he says he will seek another term as governor (and I sure don't want to give any chance of the repukes taking the governorship). I don't think Tom Allen would risk it. We sooooo need a 'name'.

Jean Hay Bright of Dixmont. I don't know much about her.

15. one more reason to hate republicans
what is their problem? They want people off of "welfare" or so they say, but they don't want to give people enough to live on. They make me sick. What a bunch of hypocrits.

20. thanks. everyone should call, to say thanks or to admonish
I already called before the vote, and gave to everyone at work the phone numbers of our reps, and alerted 30 dem committee persons to do the same.
